“Lovely well positioned hotel”
A top hotel in an excellent location. Excellent facilities and friendly accommodating staff. The sea view rooms are fantastic and the views are stunning. The casino is a good size which caters for most requirements.
“One of the Best”
My wife and I visit this hotel twice a year because we enjoy its location, high standards of hygiene and friendliness of the staff who always provide a warm welcome. We look forward to our regular visits and renewing friendships. This hotel is not for those seeking the high life although there is ample entertainment available nearby. The adjoining night club and casino provide a low cost meal and cabaret of a very good standard. Outside the hotel pool and sun terraces offerspacious and well-maintained facilities. Overall this hotel offers the best all-round experience in our opinion.
“Can't wait to go back....................”
Fantastic hotel. A room with a sea view is worth the little extra. Great breakfasts and hospitality from staff was brilliant.
“Best hotel in the Algarve”
This hotel enjoys a splendid location overlooking the spacious Praia da Rocha beach. There is an extensive and comfortable lounge and terrace area whilst rooms are spacious, well furnished and comfortable. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The seawater pool and huge subathing area are a major attraction. The only drawback is the number of steps down to the beach but in every other respect this is a fine place to stay.
“Greatest Beach”
We found the hotel to be very comfortable, although our street-side room on the first floor was subject to some street noise. The hotel has limited but free parking, and is near a number of rather good and some excellent restaurants. We did not eat dinner in the hotel, but the breakfasts were more than plenty. Did not use the saltwater pool, but spent our time on the beach, which is huge and relatively quiet. The hotel supplies towels, and the daily rental charge for an umbrella and lounge chairs in relativly inexpensive. We were able to take day trips to surrounding sights and towns without much effort. Other tourists mainly French, Germman, Portuguese and some Spanish. Thought there would be more Brits. Warm, sunny blue skys by day and cool evenings by night. Would love to return to Portimao and the hotel sometime soon.
“High class beach-side hotel with considerable wow factor”
We stayed for two weeks over the whitsun break 2009. This 5* hotel(perhaps a little overrated) appeared perfectly in context with the surrounding area which although very built-up has undergone a recent makeover. Our expectations were high and on entering the lobby we encountered magnificent sea views. Reception were polite, friendly and efficient. As a family of three we had booked Twin room with Sea view and were given a room on the first floor overlooking the garden - not in the main multi story block. My impression of the room was not quite so wow at first but we were soon won over by a large verandah facing the sea. Room facilities were very good but no Tea/coffee making equipment. Breakfast was top class. Bar was well served and we dined once in the Alladino restaurant including the show which we thoroughly enjoyed. Everything went like clockwork including the airport transfer which we had pre-booked. We had a super holiday and the deal we got on this package made it an excellent choice.

The hotel was better than we expected having read some of the earlier reviews. We had upgraded our room, so maybe it was one that had been refurbished and others are not so nice, but we had a very clean, comfortable and spacious room with a fabulous sea view and balcony. A previous review mentions no iron in the room, and also there are no tea making facility...but this is a hotel where you order room service for tea and you get someone else to do the laundry. The hotel has a great location in the bay with easy access onto the beach and plenty of places to relax around the very large pool. We had a very pleasant stay and would recommend it.
“Would Go Back Again and Again”
Was a wonderful stay! Beautiful hotel. Wonderful amenities. Great adult large pool and kiddie pool. Had a fantastic playground area with playground kids' club adult helpers to keep the little ones active. Would go back again and again. Absolutely loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“We shall go back in 2011”
We stayed at this hotel from 14 -22 July 2010. The staff were exceptional. I judge a hotel by the quality of its back and front office. Reception staff, Jose, Claudio, Manuela and Suzanna, were just wonderful. The porters were too as were the housekeeping staff. This hotel has excellent facilities and I would recommend a room with a sea view. Altogether, a thoroughly enjoyable 8 day stay. Highly recommended.
“Excellent hotel - you must get the sea view - it's fantastic”
I was very impressed with this hotel. Very clean with friendly staff. Resturaunts & Bar areas extremely comftable and friendly, with a great casino and slots if you like a gamble. The sea view room is a must as there is not much on the standard land view. You get to see the sunrise and set from your balcony. 5 ***** - can't wait to go back !
