“great views and huge space for the price!”

My partner and I argued about whether or not to stay at the Whitsunday Martinique. He was convinced that the construction of the Airlie Beach harbor would be an eye sore. But we were VERY pleasantly surprised with wonderful views from our balcony and the pool deck. Yes, it is about a 10 min. hike up the hill (steep!) from the town, but nice to be removed from the younger crowds and still have a very reasonably priced, nice, quiet hotel. Friendly staff with plenty of recommendations for making the most of your time in the Whitsundays.

“Airlie Beach adventure”

We found the Martinique a lovely oasis . The view from every room and especially the large swimming pool were spectacular. We had 5 visiting cockatoos each morning on our balcony. The walk up the steep hill is worth the stay, only 1 1/2 blocks from downtown Airlie. Although a cab ride is very cheap. Make sure you eat seafood at Neptunes. I highly recommend the Martinique.

“Really Enjoyed My Stay!”

I stayed at the Martinique in October and thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact I would say it was one of my most enjoyable times in Australia. The service was great and more than helpful in terms of providing info. and pointing out places to go. The view is really nice as well. The only downside is the walk up the hill to get ther from the main street!!! But it keeps you fit ...

“Top of the hill”

Out of all the hotels to pick in Airlie, I picked Martinique because of the price and location. I was pleased with the service when I got there, and the whole layout of the hotel is very comfortable. Walking back from the bars at 3 am isn't too bad either, it IS uphill but a nice sobering walk.

“Fantastic”

We had a 2 bedroom apt. here for a few nights and loved it. The view from our balcony was amazing and the room had all the comforts of home. I would definitly stay here again. The only downside was a steep walk to get up to the hotel. Well worth it though.

“Would go back”

This apartment style accommodation is set up in the hills of Airlie beach with a beautiful view of the ocean. The rooms are fairly spacious with a kitchen including a dishwasher and a washer and dryer. The bed and pillows were average. It was quiet (in a nice area) and good for a short stay or a long one. It is just a few minutes walk down to the main street with restaurants and stores but the walk up the steep hill takes a bit longer than the way down. It was a very nice place to stay as there are only about 20 rooms so it's small and the couple that operates the place are very friendly and helpful in assisting to give ideas of things to do and booking them. I knew of one tour I would want to do when I got there and they booked for me before checking in. I was also going to be there after they would be closed and they had everything easily setup for me to get in to my room.

“Excellent view, gorgeous pool but more extended stay than hotel”

Located close to Airlie beach centre (walkable but steep uphill), friendly manager, gorgeous pool with superb view over the bay. Spacious apt (for 2p). Disadvantage: No daily service (towels, cleaning,...) & responsible for taking trash out, doing dishes,... so not a real hotel but better suited for longer stays.

“A great holiday experience”

The hotel room was spacious and private with spectacular views over the water. The pool was sensational and the clientele respectful of others, friendly and relaxed. Others have written of the steep hill from Airlie's main street to hotel. It's true; it is steep, but is only 5 to 10 minutes to walk up and it's the price you pay for the view! The hotel is ideally situated, only about 15 mins walk to the main street but far enough away to be quiet when you want quiet. The managers were extremely helpful. We had a couple of minor hiccups with things not working as they should in the room. Lyn and Ashley remedied any problems promptly and with a smile. Thanks for a great stay.

“Nice hotel”

Everything was good, checked in 3 hours early and room was all ready to go, only downside was the spa needed a good clean.

“I won't be booking again”

I was extremely disappointed by the Martinique. The building was dated and worn and in need of a complete refurbishment eg the net curtains in our bedroom has been torn and mended with sellotape/duct tape. The pool was not clean. The situation ok for fit healthy adults but totally unsuitable for family's as the approach is up a very steep road making walking from the resort difficult. Not the experience I had expected.
