Top Zoos in Sydney
From fun on the harbour to pub crawls and a budding reputation as a gastronomical destination, Sydney is full of places to see and visit. While you’re touring its many buildings and sampling the beers, though, don’t forget to get in touch with your wild side. The Emerald City has plenty of places where you can make friends both furry and finned. Ready for koalas, whales, and everything in between? Check out these popular spots for a Sydney safari.
WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo
Fact: You can’t call yourself an Aussie if you haven’t cuddled a koala! Make it your mission to squeal over koalas, check out the wallabies, and eye up the southern cassowary. Then, move on to something a little cuter. Budgies, anyone?
You can explore the zoo with a WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo Admission and call it a day, or you can include a meal with an Admission with Lunch at Outback Adventurers Café. It’s your day at the zoo – spend it however you like.
Taronga Zoo & Sky Safari
Know what goes well with giraffes and elephants? Cruises. Now, we aren’t saying you should winch Jerry Giraffe onto a boat with you, but we are saying that you can float on over to the zoo on the ferry and recoup some Zen before communing with the critters. The Taronga Zoo & Sky Safari with Sydney Harbour Explorer Cruise might be just what you need to get your day off to a great start.
SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium
Dugongs and sharks and rays, oh my! Just kidding: We know you’re really here to see the local penguins. That’s okay. We love penguins, too, and you can see plenty of them at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium. The Ultimate Sydney Pass will get you to the aquarium (and the penguins!) and to a number of other local hot spots, like the Sydney Tower Eye and Madame Tussauds. But don’t worry – we know you really just want to see Steven, George, Genie, and Nog. (Yes, those are the penguins’ actual names!)
See It All!
Maybe you want to do one thing … maybe you want to do everything. We’re here to help. Check out heaps of the area’s coolest attractions – like the Sydney Tower Eye, the Opera House, and a variety of sightseeing tours – with the Combo Pass and the Sydney Attractions Flex Pass. These passes last for a set amount of time (from days to months) and allow you to see what you want, when you want. What could be better?
So what sounds good? Tell those koalas how you feel about them over breakfast, let a cute parrotlet (that’s a small parrot) eat out of your hand, and post pictures of penguins all over your social media. We’ll be waiting to see them.
