Listopedia: The Theme Park Bucket List
Adrenalin junkies or Disneyland dreamers, theme parks provide hours of fun for people young and old, all over the world. Here’s the Listopedia Theme Park Bucket List for anyone who’s waited in line for their favourite ride.
6 Flags Magic Mountain, California
Home to some of the most extreme roller coasters in the world, this is the Disneyland for adrenalin junkies. Leave your fear at home and get ready for some serious speed aboard what they call “monster coasters”. The Tatsu roller coaster is the tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster in the world and on X2 you’ll ride to the 4th dimension and back.
Disneyland Park, Anaheim
Not the newest Happiest Place on Earth, but as one of the very first parks in Disneyland Resort, this theme park holds a special place in many people’s hearts. Whether it was when you walked through Sleeping Beauty’s Castle or the first time you rode on Dumbo the Flying Elephant, this is where the magic comes to life.
Europa-Park, Germany
Precision engineering, fast cars and motorways without speed limits – the Germans have all the key ingredients to a thrilling ride. When it comes to themes parks, they’ve got plenty to choose from but Europa Park is the biggest and has a reputation for being home to plenty of awesome rides. Spread over 90 hectares, the 11 roller coasters live in themed lands. Make time to check out Silver Star over in France, the sleek ride hits 130km/hr.
6 Flags over Texas
The saying goes “everything is bigger in Texas” and this Fort Worth theme park has taken it to heart. Expect 15 storeys high plunges, an enormous swing ride that soars up to 400 ft and the Texas Giant, a classic wooden roller coaster with the steepest drop for any of its kind.
Disney California Adventure Park, Anaheim
Right next door to Disneyland, this California-themed park keeps getting better and better, with the opening of Cars Land last year. The eight lands have everything from Grizzly River Runs through faux mountains to giant caterpillar rides in “A Bugs Life”.
