Ok let’s start by stating the location is beautiful, the golf courses are superb, and the hotel grounds are lovely. The hotel seems very tired. Now this is my fault for kit checking but I guess when I’m paying £240 a night I didn’t really consider a hotel If this supposed stature did not have air con in the rooms, we’ll talk about uncomfortable, lack of sleep and irritated with my silly decision to stay there, I was amazed when I asked at reception to the response. The young lady laughed and said there have Scottish air con which consisted of a dirty old fan with no power, full of dust and I wax then sent on a wild goose chase to find an ice station where I was told to place a bucket of ice in front of my fan which would then cool the room down. 30 minutes later some stations not working and no buckets anywhere and do I managed to eventually get one from behind the bar, well the ice did nothing at all and of course melted within an hour, terrible nights sleep. Then we make it to breakfast, over crowded, dirty table and poor staff, I had to ask 3 times to get my pot of tea which finally turned up after breakfast. Food it’s self was terrible, no flavour, poor quality and poorly cooked, so so disappointing when it wouldn’t take much to make this hotel very nice, I feel the price is reflected by the impact of most guests been American and don’t know value for money in this area
