Breakfast was average. Had good western options, however there was no fresh fruit for instance, no cheese, a few types of bread. Coffee is very limited, black coffee and if wanting a latte, a capuccino, hot chocolate from the machine, it's not available. Just creamers available. The two restaurants where breakfast eas served were very cramped, not easy to find a table. Didn't use the laundry services. Staff at reception very cooperative; few understood english. Cleanliness of the bedroom was excellent. Very near to the train station (under 2 mi utes), and about 4 minutes from the Universal studios.

The stand out about this hotel is the people. Everything with the property is excellent. But a hotel is about people. The people that care for you here are so lovely and warm that they feel more like family. You really look forward to seeing them every day and engaging them on the traditions and culture of Japan.

Staff is very helpful. Rooms are very clean, neat & tidy. Worth for money we spent. Lot of areas for dining, shopping and walking. General public & culture is really welcoming.

What truly made our stay unforgettable was the outstanding care from the Kids Club team —Saki and Kaori. They went above and beyond for our 8-year-old son, creating moments of joy, learning, and connection that he will never forget. From fun activities to teaching him the art of origami, they brought so much warmth and magic to his days. Their kindness and attention made our stay feel deeply special. The reception team was equally impressive — attentive, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. Every interaction felt genuine and gracious. Six Senses Kyoto is a sanctuary of beauty and calm, but it’s the people who made it truly exceptional. We are grateful for this experience and can’t wait to return.
