Beautiful and characterful room, very spacious, located in a great area.

A spacious one bedroom unit. An older building, but has all the features you need. Very central. Short walk to town hall trains . Walk over a overbridge to Darling Harbour.

The toilet created terible noise in the bedroom when using.

Pleasant room, very quiet, harbour views, nice walking paths alongside harbour. Only downside was shower in the bath which is dodgy for aging limbs. I take my own non-slip mat which helps me avoid slipping.

Stayed with 2 other families. Awesome family friendly resort with indoor soft play / jungle gyms, games rooms, indoor pool, ice skating, outdoor slides and a cinema (!!). Fantastic for kids - just note that not everything runs during the week outside of school holidays. Staff are all amazing and are very helpful and friendly.

It was my first visit to The Porter House and I was generally happy with my stay. I had asked for a room on a higher floor and away from the elevator, which they were able to accommodate. It was a lovely touch to see my name displayed on the TV when we entered the room, and a bottle of wine and a hand-written card. It's the little things that made the stay enjoyable. The check-in staff were also very lovely and helpful. I really appreciated them. Rooms: Spacious enough for 2 people. The bed was huge. I love the design and curation behind the decor of the room. The iPad controls were nice, such as automatic curtain openers and light controls. It would have been nice to have extra hooks in the room. I found it hard to find places to hang my towel, robe and bags. Coffee machine was a convenient addition to the room. Cleanliness: Given that I had paid almost $400 per night, I think there should have been extra attention to detail in the cleaning. There were a few crumbs in between the armchairs. It would have been nice for house keeping to vacuum the room more thoroughly as some times, there would be hair left behind. Would also be good to clean the shower grouts every once in a while. Other: One thing that was a bit annoying was the signal. My mum wasn't able to get signal while inside the room, and the TV kept freezing. There were also a lot of older shows on so the options on TV seemed a bit limited.

Noisy rooms, with the noise of the pub getting into our room. Double glazing would help -- I expected more, given the tariff I paid. Note that you're coming here purely for the location. The hotel is nice, but it's not a bargain, nor even good value.

Centrally located. We love the location. Also the staff are helpful.
