Great places to walk around to. Clean and functional rooms.

What a lovely experience. The place is full of nostalgia and history. The food was pricey and darn good. The breakfast was great. The staff were friendly and warm. The beach is absolute perfection. We swam in the clear warm water and went out on a catamaran that was fun. In the bar we heard the best local singer Johnny Valentine so musical The mushroom pesto pasta was incredible. My wife says she fell in love with the place and cried when we left.

Rooms, clean, friendly staff. The renovations kind of took away that open feeling when you walk in to like a sitting area, but the views of the restaurants were beautiful.

Totally enjoyed the hotel The only thing that could be better is the floor in which they do their breakfast in needs to be bigger Otherwise the hotel is awesome

We were pleasantly surprised as we have stayed at Four Seasons, Astoria and Ritz Hotels. Great ocean front property with excellent 5 star service! Pool is oversized and has great accommodations for sun worshippers and guests who need more shade. Location is outstanding as you can walk to the luxury shops and many amazing restaurants if you want to try something different. We had several spa treatments that were also excellent along with the many drinks and light lunches by the pool. The restaurant service and food is also outstanding . I find this hotel more of a 5 star boutique hotel and very calming! We usually stay at the four seasons in Maui but my husband wanted to go to Honolulu and I wanted to be on the ocean, this hotel seemed to be the only fit for luxury and walkability that is ocean front! I would highly recommend staying here as the Four Seasons in Hawaii is much further out and the Ritz Carlton is not ocean front! Loved it

The location of this hotel is amazing and the pool area is great. I also want to preface this review by saying that the staff took any concerns we had seriously and were as accommodating as they could be. This hotel has a serious Mold issue that we experienced in 3 different rooms. The first room had Mold all over the ceiling above the bed. The 2nd room was 7 floors below that one but shared a wall with the previous room and also has black Mold in the corner of the ceiling. We were feeling really uncomfortable with this and asked to move an additional time. This room looked better at a glance and was also more updated. However, there was a musty smell in this room and the entire 3rd floor that was hard to get over. At a glance the Mold issue was better but it was all over the curtains, hangers in the closet and the front of the AC vent. At this point we just vent and got a bunch of glade air fresher plug ins and gave up. I really would love to recommend this hotel for the location, amenities and staff but both of us left the hotel feeling sick. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone with respiratory issues or asthma. I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels in humid locations and have never experienced mold like this. In my opinion, this is more of a 3 star hotel. It’s definitely no where close to a 5 star hotel.
