Room was clean and comfortable and met all of our needs. But we took the cheapest room available which was a mistake. Our room's balcony overlooked Brisbane Rd. Very noisy and we didn't spend any time on the balcony. Pay the extra few dollars and get a room with a pool view or garden view. They will be much less noisy

Had a wonderful 10 night stay at Shantara. We loved being so close to Macrossan st and the beach, while the pool was an amazing end to each day. The Hotel was peaceful, beautiful and quiet. As is normal for Far North Queensland, there is not everyday cleaning service but we don’t use that anywhere anyway. Plenty of parking, but if you didn’t bring a car everything is walking distance with shuttle bus options for longer journeys. The only black mark of the stay were our neighbours on the pool deck room who were obviously upset at having a queer couple nearby, so disappointing in 2026 but not the Hotels fault at all.

Room was great/spacious/clean - location is very easy to get around Byron. Staff were amazing - I misplaced some jewellery during stay and the staff went out of their way to help me successfully find it - thank you so much ☺️ Highly recommend Bay Haven

Great pool, comfy beds, perfect location. Next time we will get the larger room. We were in a Studio apartment a nd wished we had a bigger balcony.

Good wee spot, can't complain whatsoever. 10/10. Fun fact, it's the Inbetweeners hostel. Legit only realised this when I rocked up. One thing I would recommend is some recycling bins.
