The Land Yacht – Indoor Pool, Hot Tub, Solarium Lounge & Sublime Ocean Views
10/10 Excellent
"Stupendous, is the only word I can think of that captures the entirety of our stay at the Land Yacht. Hands down, this was the best vacation rental we ever experienced and after 30 years of vacation rentals that means a lot. As a multi-generational family of 13 spanning ages 2 to 72, I cannot think of a better place to enjoy time together. The Land Yacht boasts a very spacious living area that allows for quality time together while also providing quiet places for alone time. The pool, in particular, allowed for hours of fun and frolicking and was especially appreciated when the weather excluded outdoor activities. The setting is gorgeous and private; hours were spent in the large solarium, relaxing, reading, playing games and observing the vista and wildlife. We were even visited by a pair of playful porpoises. The location is excellent, only a short drive to Peggy's Cove and Lunenburg and a 10 minute drive to Sobeys and the liquor store. We went on a beautiful hike to Polly's Cove and enjoyed swimming in Long Lake, both very close to Peggy"s Cove.Thomas and Melanie are the quintessential hosts. Communication from the time of reservation until the day of disembarkation was prompt and helpful. Thomas's tour of the premises on the arrival date was very useful. The house was spotless and the kitchen and pantry were well-stocked.In all, we spent a perfect week at the Land Yacht and created many lasting memories."
Oceanfront Garden Cottage - Gateway to Attractions & Towns. Private Cove Mooring
10/10 Excellent
"As we drove up to the house, we could see the magnificent view it commanded from the deck with four different colored Adirondock chairs. When we walked into the house, the kitchen was in front of you, with two bedrooms to the left on either side of the bathroom. The owner did a great job on details, e.g. under cabinet lights in the bathroom with beautifully tiled shower, and lighted vanity mirror. There was a sitting room with television and comfy furnishings. A dinette set was off to the right of the kitchen. In short, the layout was perfect for our five day stay. The town of Chester is within 10 minute drive with a couple of good restaurants, and music on the weekend. The harbor is beautiful. Its also a 20 minute drive to Hubbards Cove where we found our favorite place for happy hour, Tuna Blue (3pm to 5pm). The Shore restaurant was also in Hubbards Cove if you're looking for a lobster dinner in a mess hall type environment (opened in 1934). The host, Yi, who lives on the other side of the home, was great as we needed some help to get our laundry done. If there was any negative (any its really hard to find one with this place) there's a gun club that meets on Sundays and you can hear the shooting for a couple of hours. Its far away, but still discernible. We just went to the Ovens Park that day (a must see in this part of Nova Scotia). All in all, this place is a 10, a fantastic place to stay and if we visit Nova Scotia again we will definitely stay here."
