Showers in the onsen are cold and you have to wait for many minutes in order for hot water to come out. The rooms and elevators are old. the outdoor hotspring is on the top floor with no facilities (you have to go downstairs first and shower) and no real view to speak of. The location is on the main drag which is nice. But it should be 1/2 the...

"We had a nice stay. The front desk staff was very kind. There is a kiosk for check-in and check-out, but desk staff as well. They also have a translation device that was a big help. The train station is directly across the road. We needed to store our luggage after we checked out for a few hours, and they kindly held it. The rooms are small by Western standards, but you just adjust. "

"Hotel Metropolitan Nagano is directly connected from Nagano Station which is a gateway to lots of sightseeing spots. Service was impeccable, breakfast abundant and scrumptious, location so central to shopping and dining.
The only thing I wish this hotel would have is a spa with public bath/sauna. With cold winter in Nagano, hot bath would make the stay perfect. Otherwise, I enjoyed everything about my stay at this hotel. "
