Arriving at our main street, enter the Gated Community of Silverleaf. Our neighborhood is all gravel. For those not use to mountain roads, note that our roads are wider than many other mountain getaways we looked at purchasing in. Road courtesy is to allow the cars coming UP the mountain to have the ability to keep moving forward for continued momentum, so if you are coming down you pull off to the side on the nearest wide spot used for this very thing.
The cabin will be the first driveway on the right once you reach our street. The covered front porch and wrap-around deck promise true relaxation surrounded by nature and the soothing sound of a neighboring rushing creek. Numerous windows allow natural light and views of wildlife and nature from every room.
Step inside to a spacious living room with stacked stone gas fireplace – and well equipped for electronic entertainment (HDTV, 53 cable channels, DVD, and new Sound Bar.) You will also find a collection of board and card games, DVDs, kids’ books and toys in the cabin available for your use and Free WIFI.
The Rustic table for 8 in the dining room and seats for 3 at kitchen bar. Nicely appointed kitchen with all of the necessities – as well as a few fun extras like a French press for the coffee connoisseurs, a blender (smoothie or Margarita anyone?) and flip Belgian waffle maker.
Enjoy the nicely furnished "BEAR" Bedroom featuring an outstanding view of the sunrise over Rich Mountain as well as the side deck and hot tub. Serta perfect Queen bed. Extra blankets and pillows in each closet for cuddling near the fireplace, on the deck or just for extra cozy on those cold winter nights. The "Moose" bedroom also boasts second new Serta Perfect. A linen closet with extra sheets and towels, a stacked washer and dryer to allow you to pack lighter so you have more time for fun.... Let the clothes wash and dry at our place while you are out hike nearby the cabin!
During the warmer months we love to eat all meals on the deck. Patio umbrella under the bedroom on the left. Enjoy a sit in the rocking chairs on the front and others on the side at the table. During Winter, grab a hot chocolate or cider and cozy up to the gas fireplace – or step outside and luxuriate in the four-person HOT TUB! Featuring soothing jets, headrest and LED lights in multiple colors to suit your every mood. Wonderful private feel facing Rich Mountain at sunset. Especially invigorating in the cold night air, hot water bubbling and steam rising and snow falling all round....
Cabin sits on 1.24 acres, but the views stretch for miles. Hiking trails begin right at the front door to Rich Mountain and surrounding area.
Also available are: skiing, snow tubing, kayaking, river rafting, fishing, and restaurants. The smaller Valley Grocery is 5 minutes away – a larger Food Lion grocery store is 13 minutes away in Mountain city or Ingles Grocery is 15 minutes and Publix 23 minutes away. Visit Boone, Banner Elk, Vilas, and Todd for restaurants and shopping. Find our personal favorite local attractions in the Welcome Book.

We came to the area for my niece's graduation and enjoyed every minute. The cabin is cozy and comfortable with beautiful views. Everything was as described and conveniently located to restaurants and attractions. We will definitely keep you in mind next time we are in the area ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wanted to get away from the oppressive heat in Orlando and this lovely little cabin was the perfect place. Wonderful mountain views, and peace and quiet. the cabin is well appointed and a lovely rustic place to get away. Thank you for sharing the serenity.
We loved everything about this cabin. Theresa was so helpful and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The views were wonderful and the cabin was just what we needed. The cabin is secluded and quiet but a short drive to anything you need. We enjoyed the hot tub looking out to the mountain, using the grill, going up to the bald, and sitting on the porch taking in the nature. I would recommend this stay to anyone who wants a nice getaway away from the hustle and bustle. We will definitely plan to stay again!!
Best service ever! And the flower picking was a super bonus
We had to make a last minute switch when our lodging fell through and so glad we did! Rich Mountain Summit was perfect for sisters trip - spotless, spacious, and well-stocked. Our time at the cabin was spent on the roomy deck and in the hot tub watching the weather move across the mountain. We had a couple of questions when we arrived and though it was after hours, we got an immediate response and assistance to get everything operating. Our favorite activities? Flower picking at Springhouse Farms provided by our generous host. The ski lift to yoga and refreshments atop Beech Mountain. Short hike for a refreshing swim at Elk River Falls. Bluegrass concerts along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The cabin is delightful. It is located in a gated community perched high on top with beautiful views. It would be easy to just stay on the balcony all day & sip tea(or wine if you prefer). The VRBO representation is spot on. Yes, anyone who has never experienced mountain roads before is going to be surprised but, in actuality they are prevalent throughout the High Country. The owner is exceptionally helpful & communicative. The location makes so many opportunities accessible..hiking..fishing..day trips...shopping..even TN since you 10 miles from the state line between NC & TN. I would give this property more than excellent if I could!!!!
Stayed here with my two Doodles while working 12+ hour days post Helene. Being able to start and end the day in house vs a hotel room makes the long days much easier. It was an absolute luxury to have a full kitchen AND a washer and dryer. The property was as described. The host was wonderful! Exceeded all expectations. Would love to come back one day when I can enjoy my coffee on the expansive patio and take a dip in the hot tub. NOTE: the 4-wheel drive part of the listing is no joke. The roads are nice and well maintained but the last couple of turns are pretty steep. This is where 4WD comes in handy.
My husband and I stayed here for 7 days and had the best experience. The cabin is super cozy and conveniently close to historic Boone and other areas like Hawksnest. The owners are extremely welcoming and we can’t wait to come back.

Great location, private and quiet.
The property was clean and located in a quiet development. The house was well stocked and beds were comfortable. The WIFI worked well and the hot tub was clean. We had a great weekend.
We had an amazing anniversary trip. The cabin is beautiful and feels secluded. Really enjoyed the hot tub and the gorgeous view. Definitely will come back!
Cute bear themed cabin in a very quiet setting with a nice view off the porch. Close to Boone and also to good hiking trails. Very good communication with owner.

Amazing cabin!!!!
My husband , dogs, and I had such a great time at this cabin! It's private and secluded yet close enough to downtown Boone if you would like a night out on the town ! There are great trails you can walk to from the cabin ! Amazing views and great management with booking the cabin. We will be back soon!!
This place is beautiful! It’s so peaceful…the deck was my favorite spot. I spent every evening listening to the owls hooting and the birds singing. The management is awesome as well, very communicative and helpful! I’m already looking forward to my next stay there!
