Nature Hideout with Great Location | Bear's Den Log Cabin | Hot Tub & Two Decks
Dreaming of a private retreat in the Appalachias? Bear's Den Log Cabin is a charming mountain home that offers the peaceful solitude you want, all from a great central location in the High Country. With a hot tub for soaking under the stars and space to play with your pups in the yard, you'll love your stay at Bear's Den. -------------------------------------------- Indoor Spaces: - Sleeping arrangements: With room for six guests, this cabin features two bedroom suites, each with a queen bed and private bath. A sleeper sofa provides additional sleeping accommodations. - Main level: Wood walls and beamed ceilings create an open floor plan that is perfect for entertainment and family togetherness. Curl up in the comfy leather furniture and wooden rocking chair as the gas fireplace keeps you toasty warm from within its stone hearth. As a single-level home, Bear's Den Log Cabin offers the ideal setup for small families or a couple's retreat. Even the bathrooms give you cozy luxury, with a Jacuzzi soaking tub and walk-in shower in each. - Bear's Den Log Cabin comes with WiFi, AC, and streaming-enabled TVs. - All Stay Blue Ridge vacation rentals include a complimentary starter pack with soaps, one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, a roll of paper towels in the kitchen, dishwasher pods, and trash bags. -------------------------------------------- Outdoor Spaces: - Bear's Den is a natural oasis, with a large sun deck in the back that features a hot tub, propane grill, and furniture perfect for lounging and dining. - Relax on the front deck swing, with even more porch furniture for relaxing. The front deck is covered, so you can watch the natural world go by in any weather. - A large, grassy deck gives kids and dogs the space to frolic. Plus, an outdoor firepit with ample seating makes this yard the place to be, day or night. -------------------------------------------- Local Surroundings: - Bear's Den gives you a central location that is just over 20 minutes to either West Jefferson or Boone, with Blue Ridge Parkway access points 10 minutes away. - Head to downtown West Jefferson for an authentic small-town experience, with charming shops and delightful restaurants. Breweries like New River Brewery and Boondocks Brew Haus are great for trying local craft beers, while Old Barn Winery and Vineyards gives you a taste of wine in the High Country. You have to take the time out to visit Ashe Co. Cheese Factory while in town for free samples of homemade cheese and a tour of the factory and cheese-making process. - In Boone, the home of Appalachian State University, you can embody the Mountaineer spirit. Catch a football game in the fall, or you can find live music events throughout the year at venues like Boone Saloon, Lost Province Downtown Brewpub, and App State's Schaefer Center. - The nearby New River lets you enjoy all kinds of fun on the water, including swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and tubing. If you don't have your own equipment, venture out to one of the local outfitters to rent boats and tubes, such as Zaloos Canoes in Jefferson or Riverside Canoe & Tube Rentals in Crumpler. - During the spring and summer, the Blue Ridge Parkway is the place to be, with dozens of overlooks and hiking trails to choose from. When the parkway truly shines, however, is during autumn. The fall foliage famously brings in thousands of visitors every year to admire the vibrant red, yellow, and orange colors that sweep over the mountain ranges and bring the High Country to life. - Winter can be just as fun, especially when it snows. If you're in the mood for a wintertime adventure, head up to Appalachian Ski Mountain in Boone for skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, and ice skating. -------------------------------------------- Important Notes: - Pet Policy: Dogs Welcome, two-dog limit. Must be leash or crate trained, two years or older, and 45lbs or less. $50 per pet, nonrefundable. - Access: Travel mainly on main roads, but gravel roads lead into the cabin for roughly the last half mile. 4WD/AWD recommended, especially in winter. -------------------------------------------- Why Stay Blue Ridge? Perfect cozy weekend at this awesome cabin! We will definitely return! The beds were super comfortable, the firepit and hot tub were perfect and we had tons of privacy. Huge front porch, grill was ready to go and we were lucky enough to see some snow❄️☃️🌨️🏔️
Great location all within same proximity to West Jefferson, Boon, and Blowing Rock. Not sure beds are true queen size (and that's my only complaint). Well furnished rooms and kitchen. Washer/Dryer included if needed. Private.
I hate to even say this, because the property was really nice, but we did find hairs on the pillow and sheets of the master bedroom. However the bed was freshly made which didn’t make sense. We did notify the property manager when we called to find out why the jacuzzi was off.
Property was nice and spacious. Cabin was clean and cozy.
Nice amenities provided- fire pit , hot tub and gas fireplace. We liked the bench rocker on the front porch.
The gravel road leading to the cabin was tight and sketchy.

We had a wonderful time at Bear's Den! It was very clean and quiet. The location was peaceful and easy to get to in a car.
We stayed here because of graduation in Application state. The place was comfortable, stocked kitchen. The beds where to soft for our liking. The town of West Jefferson was very quaint. The dogs approved.

Cabin & amenities were great. Instructions for internet were incorrect & required tech support. Plus instructions for main room tv were useless & took days to access normal tv channels with up to date news during irainian conflict.

Reviewer Comments:
Beautiful surroundings and lovely cabin. Our only complaints had to do with cleanliness. The refrigerator needed to be cleaned, as did the porches on both the front and back of the house. I think the cleaning service might not be doing as thorough a job overall as would be expected, considering the effort the owners have put into decorating the cabin. Thanks for the great time, otherwise!
This is a beautiful property in a great location, but there are some drawbacks that were disappointing. First, the fireplace doesn’t work. This seems to be a chronic issue. Second, the hot water is not really hot at all. Even when running only hot water it was barely warm. Third, the DVD player in the living room doesn’t work. For what we paid, these issues are really unacceptable and I will not rent this property again.
Although the property is amazing , the property is hazardous to get to. About 1-3 miles of washed out ruts, deep gulleys to avoid made this place one to avoid for my vehicle!
Great 2 bedroom cabin up on the ridge. Very comfortable accommodations. Fireplace and hot tubs and nice front porch with a swing. very quiet. Would have been nice to have Keurig instead of having to make a pot of coffee every time.
Only real complaint was the master bedroom mattress needs some work or replacement, you rolled to the middle no matter what side you started on.

Good stay but house lacking some in cleanliness
It was a good location and a nice house. It looked like it had not been cleaned in a while.
Cobwebs and bugs in the house and cobwebs and spiders on the porch. There are also carpenter beetles or something in the ceiling of the front porch. The toilets had mildew in them as well. Also, there was not a hairdryer. A small thing to need but something That has been in all cabins we have rented before.
Absolutely amazing place to stay! Perfect little getaway place tucked into the mountains! No issues driving to the house. Everything we needed was within 20 minutes of the house. Great privacy!
We walked in to a clean, open, relaxing cabin that we wanted to stay at forever. The beds were comfortable, kitchen was equipped with all supplies to make our stay wonderful. The hot tub was clean and secluded. I would give this place a thumbs up and will return year after year!
This cabin is fantastic! Very clean with all the amenities we needed for a family Christmas getaway. The kitchen is fully stocked and all of the classic board games are provided. Super dog-friendly, right down to the food/water bowls, extra leashes and waste bags. Just be aware that there are a couple of dogs roaming loose from nearby houses leaving their mark on the property. Reasonable drives to towns, hikes, skiing & more. Beautiful area!
Only issue is with what to do with the trash all week. Trash bin outside would help or direction where to take it. Didn't like seeing it in the kitchen all week. Other than that it was great.
