"If you are on business trip or leisure and you want to be close to city and airport this is ideal location. The rooms are huge and very cozy. All rooms have Sea View and it has number of small boats for rent... like for fishing etc. Over the weekend there is waterpark which comes to life and it is amazing."

"This hotel is located in a great location and is super cute! The rooftop bar/pool/restaurant is really nice and the breakfast is fabulous!! We loved everything we had. The view from the pool is very nice and hip! The boutique in the hotel had very nice high end clothing and other neat stuff. The rooms are small but very nicely done and great bathroom amenities. I would stay here again for sure and I’m kind of a hotel snob but Upendo is super cute and decorated nicely "

"I stayed in the hotel for one night before leaving Zanzibar, If you are looking for a 5 star hotel experience, with a spa, nice restaurant, safety, and quiet. Also a 5 min walk to the airport (or shuttle) This place is great! You can always take tours from here, and return to a nice cozy feeling of home. But if you're looking to wake up in stone town or the beach, this is not that place. That being said, the staff is 10/10, amenities are 10/10, the restaurant and breakfast are fantastic. This is a perfect place to stay if you have kids, or are somewhat skeptical of the island (you shouldn't be, it's safe). Or if you just want a luxury experience! Whenever I come to Zanzibar, I will always make it a point to stay here for my first night, or on my last night!"
