"As soon as you walk in you get this awful smell, smells like a dead rodent or something.. room wasn’t very clean you can tell they do a quick wipe down and just let the next person go in. but unfortunately this was one of the better motels in the area. People at the front desk were friendly, I just wouldn’t book again unfortunately."

"Donna and Mike were such good hosts. They've compiled a binder with just about everything you need to know about the island, the area, restaurants, etc. The cottage feels like home, and it's proximity to the York River provided lovely views, as well as a wide array of birds, from eagles to osprey to herons and more. The cottage was so comfortable that we didn't even mind being rained in for a day. "

"We stayed in the main house and the accommodations were excellent and staff very friendly. Seems they are just getting established as the liquor license was issued the day of our departure and in house dining was not yet available. Breakfast was top shelf. "The home is adorable and clean in a nice quiet neighborhood. The dock is great and we even caught a crab! Nathan was super responsive. If we ever need a place to stay in these parts again, this will be our first choice. "

"Great area to stay! Short Walking distance to Waterfront with beach, food, and shops. Free Trolley also available. Very Friendly area! Close to Yorktown Visitor Center, short drive to American Revolutionary War Museum and Battlefields. Cottage was very clean and spacious. However, bathrooms are kinda small and shower doesn’t have strong water pressure. There is only one bedroom with a door, other bed is in open area outside bedroom. We enjoyed a short stay for our anniversary weekend. "

"Room was clean and bed comfortable. The place looked fresh, appeared recently redone. Heads up: a damage deposit of $50 in cash is required, credit card not accepted for damage deposit. So, if you don’t have $50 in cash, you will not be able to rent a room. And, when you check out, you have to wait while the manager goes to the room and makes sure there is no damage. "
