Delta Hotels Prince Edward by Marriott

Delta Hotels Prince Edward by Marriott

10/10 Excellent
"The hotel was overbooked upon arrival and our reserved room no longer had availability. We were offered a makeshift smaller conference room that had 1 queen bed, 2 single beds, old sofa and a full in suite bathroom. We agreed to sleep there our first night (only) in exchange for daily free breakfasts and parking for the remainder of our stay (we had a 4 night stay). We also reserved last minute tickets to see Anne of Green Gables musical through the hotel and got 10% discount. The front desk stay were always helpful, friendly and professional. So what started off on an a bad note turned out to be a great stay."

The Holman Grand Hotel

The Holman Grand Hotel

8/10 Good
"Nice and clean property located in the centre of Charlottetown. The location is optimal. The room was nice enough and had a safe. Although the price was on the higher end, there was no breakfast included or coffee in the lobby. The pillows weren’t ideal but the bed itself was comfortable. Very little room to hang towels in the bathroom. For a family of 4 sharing a bathroom, that was less than ideal. No onsite parking but plenty of parking on the streets. Would stay again!"

Glendenning Hall

Glendenning Hall

10/10 Excellent
"Clean n cute rooms and wish there was a kettle to boil water and an iron and board. Breakfast was not bad as it’s all cold stuff unlike other universities they offer full fledged breakfast hot foods like pancakes sausages scrambled eggs bacon and the works for the same price as I’ve experienced at UPEI and in Halifax also"

Rodd Charlottetown

Rodd Charlottetown

10/10 Excellent
"This hotel is historic, clean and well maintained. It is about as close to the downtown as one would want and very walkable to everything in the downtown's historic Victoria Row. The two restaurants in the hotel looked great and they have a seating area out front of the hotel which other guests seemed to enjoy. The pool although we did not use it looked pretty nice and had a deep end which might be nice for adults."

Frequently asked questions

What should I expect on my historical trip to York?
The historical places in York are likely at the top of your travel itinerary. While you're here, why not check out the seaside and restaurants?
What are the most important historical places and other sights to visit in York?
Places to visit in the wider area include Prince Edward Island Brewing Company, Red Shores Racetrack and Casino and Confederation Centre of the Arts. You'll also find Victoria Row and Charlottetown Port in the area.
What is a historic hotel like in York?
Guests who choose historic hotels have a chance to stay in a place that's been recognised with an official historic designation. Historic hotels throughout the world have had many former lives and uses, such as palaces, castles, stately homes or even lodges, pubs or skyscrapers — any place of special interest. These types of hotels in York typically retain original elements like traditional architecture and period features within the guestrooms or public spaces.
What is the difference between a historic hotel and a heritage hotel?
These are quite similar. "Historic hotel" is more commonly used in the U.S., whereas "heritage hotel" is common in Asia and Europe. Historic hotels tend to emphasise the physical building and architecture. Mainly heritage hotels draw meaning from the place's cultural value and how it inspired the surrounding community.
Do historic hotels in York have modern facilities?
Yes, efforts are made to preserve treasured traditions and historic facades, while interiors have safety features and modern conveniences. Tourists who book a stay should expect the popular amenities from a contemporary hotel such as private rooms with updated bathroom facilities, heating and air conditioning, and free and fast Internet. Booking a historic hotel in York doesn't mean you will stay in a place that's uncomfortable for guests or rundown.
