About this property
Mediterranean Style in Quiet Neighborhood
This is a beautiful, fully furnished house with large rooms. The neighborhood is on a quiet, low traffic street in Ludlow Park. It is near the Riverdale border, a short walk to the Metro North train, 5 min. drive to BxM1 and 2 bus. 10 min. drive to Broadway IRT and Van Cortlandt Park. 30-45 min drive to all airports. If you are looking for a place where parking is not an issue and you would like room to roam, this may be the place for you. Kids can play in the back yard away from traffic, and a nice side patio is very pleasant most months of the year. The kitchen is large and a perfect gathering place, situated next to a TV room and dining room if going a little more formal is your speed. Built in the 1920's (no ghosts, promise!) the construction is so solid that the whole family or friends can co-habitate with serious privacy. The living room also offers a welcoming gathering space to have morning coffee or just chill out. It is a little imposing from the outside, but from our family to you we can say that it is a warm and comfortable atmosphere here, and such a nice retreat after a day in the city or travelling elsewhere.
Excellent restaurants, horseback riding, Neighborhood House Pool and children's programs, all NYC attractions. Because we do not live close by, we have a nice caretaker who looks after the place. He resides on the property but there is a separate entrance, assuring privacy.

We traveled as a family of seven and had a wonderful time at Ari’s house. It’s very spacious, with many bathrooms, and absolutely perfect for a group of our size.We especially enjoyed the garden.
A lovely home with lots of room for everyone. Privacy and a beautiful outdoor patio and yard in a quiet neighborhood .
Short drive to NYC, the Bronx, NYBG, and fordham university.
Great kitchen and gathering areas.
Would definitely stay here again!
The house was a perfect place for several family members to gather and a larger family event in Manhattan. We had a car and parking was very easy on the street in front of the house. The house was large with enough room for each of us to have our own space with a nice kitchen and living area.
The property was great! Great communications with Ariel and with Bill! We had been delayed in Denver so were several hours late and Bill had left a message wanting to make sure all was good and that we were okay! We loved the house and all the room. Very nice and quiet neighborhood as well.
The house is old but very nice and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay immensely. The kitchen is the prefect place to meet for meals. The neighborhood is very nice and quiet. A 10 minute drive to the train and metro took us to download Manhattan. In summary: a very nice house for more than 2 people
Excellent and friendly communication from both owner and groundskeeper. If you read the property description and the reviews, you'll know exactly what you're getting. This is an older home with some quirks, but it feels homey and comfortable. And if you want to cook, you will find everything you need including appliances like a slow cooker, blender, etc. We really enjoyed our stay!
This house is lovely. We had plenty of room for our large family. There was a bit of ant problem, but we were able to take care of it. The house has an antique feel with modern updates. As with any older home there were a few minor issues such as doors that would not lock. Overall, our stay was a good experience and I recommend this home.
The neighborhood is a very relaxed one, mostly older folks it seems. Grocery stores and public transportation within a few minutes. Easy access to metro north into Manhattan. Our stay was superb as our family visited just about every evening and we had fun playing indoor games. Our son’s birthday was one town over in the Bronx and it was just a 20 minutes drive or less to get there and meet up with other family members who lives in the Bronx and New Rochelle. Thank you so much Ari and Bill.

For our daughter's college graduation, we stayed at this amazing house. After this stay, we can't imagine staying at a hotel. At a hotel, we wouldn't have been able to have half the fun, relaxing moments, or spend time in quiet, meaningful conversations, or take group photos, or do anything of the sort. Uncle would not have experienced that "interesting" Kupf painting of the guitar guy. Dad wouldn't have been able to relax and watch a game or two. Daughter would not have been able to welcome well-wishers, friends, her brother from Chicago, his girlfriend, and her pals with their parents in tow, to celebrate with her. Aunties festooned the house (temporarily) with grad regalia. There was a ton of laughter and hugs, and that's what the vision of this grad trip was. Would we have liked to have been closer to campus? Maybe, but we got used to the drive and found a few gem neighborhood restaurants to get takeout from (unforgettable pupusas, anyone?), and that 100% enhanced the quality of the stay. Thanks for helping make a memorable time for our family!Michael Hager

I am leaving a review (rare for me) for all the future visitors. Past reviewers were way too generous in describing the experience at this VRBO.
Nice porch on west side of house with good afternoon sun
Convenient location for our trip that involved football games in West Point, Cedar Grove NJ, and MetLife (East Rutherford NJ)
There is a caretaker living full time in basement which suggests this NOT a whole-house rental. Feels a little creepy when you hear his TV downstairs.
Checkin, getting key, etc was done via text conversation with owner who does not live nearby. She asked us to coordinate arrival with the on-premise caretaker so he could meet (not sure why). That was a bit of a pain on timing since we had a fluid agenda on day of arrival. He didn’t do anything or give instructions to speak of.
Would not recommend for a party of women only because of caretaker creepiness aspect.
No parking in driveway! Street parking only. This is so the caretaker can get in and out of the driveway without having us move our car. Seems like the caretaker would be the one to park on the street.
Front door does not lock. There is a chain but latch knob spins freely without doing anything.

Beautiful home in a quite neighborhood, we had a wonderful stay with our family celebrating our sons graduation from law school. Very close drive to the college and other amenities to enjoy. Definitely would recommend this property.
This property is perfect for my family. Extremely easy check in. Ample space, plenty of on street parking. Easy commute to NYC. Along with other attractions in Westchester .
A once lovely house, in need of update (windows/doors) what saved it for me was the fab art deco fittings.
It must have been an amazing house back in the day.
A lovely old house in a nice neighborhood…highly recommend.
Let me start by saying we all (me, husband, 3 Millennials) absolutely loved this house. It is absolutely charming and evokes an age gone by. Yes, it is old….and there is some chipped paint and threadbare carpet. But its charm is undeniable. There is a lovely parlor, dining room, study and kitchen…all huge. Two of the bedrooms have large beds and sitting areas, one (downstairs) has a full bed and another bedroom has two single beds. All the beds are super comfy. We all used the bathroom shower at the top of the stairs, which was fabulous. There is another shower upstairs…and powder room downstairs. We felt right at home.
Our hosts were extremely responsive, and the caretaker (dear Billy) was a gem and was there when I arrived to help me with the lockbox….which was a challenge, so call him and let him know when you are arriving. The kitchen has everything you could need…except coffee filters for the coffee maker, so bring them.
The house is in a nice residential neighborhood with parking right in front….close enough to walk to the Ludlow Metro North station if you are going into NYC.
Finally, the price was extremely reasonable.
We would highly recommend this property.
