Yamagami Onsen Holidays from AU$2,903

One of my favorite hotels I’ve stayed at in Japan. Really cool place with amazing private amenities. Stayed here since it was close to a concert venue. Did not disappoint. The breakfast is a smaller kaiseki style meal. More traditional, may not suit everyone’s taste. But room service meals were also really good! Wanted something smaller to eat as late dinner. Would definitely stay here again if I ever needed to be in the area.

Be aware travelers with family especially with minors, this is NOT the place you want to stay. I was mislead by the description on Expedia. It says a “couple hotel”. It’s actually a love hotel. I guess if it serves as its intended purpose, it’s ok. Otherwise it’s not. Plus it’s in a remote area. If you don’t have a car, you will have to walk 15 minutes + to a nearest gas station and get gas station food there, the walk back. Me and my teenager had to check out after one hour and taxi to a hotel at Kuwana bus station. Taxi was about 3000 yen. I basically lost my one night hotel money and the hotel refused to refund. Expedia stuff was helpful trying to help me get refunds because of misleading descriptions, but the hotel refused. I rarely write reviews but this time I feel like obligated to do so. I don’t want in the future other traveling family to get the bad as I did. I strongly urge Expedia to do something to make the hotel change its descriptions.

We stayed stayed two nights and had an excellent experience. The front desk and concierge staff were helpful. They arranged taxi service, brought our bags to our room, and answered questions about the area. The buffet at the Garden Court resaurant had a variety of offerings and great service. The room was clean and well-appointed. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to the Kanayama station and shops. We would stay here again.
