Yakima River Tours and Activities

Some beautiful cutthroat trout to catch & release on the upper Yakima River. We put in our driftboat at Bristol ($10 fee) and drifted down 5 miles to the take out the Green Bridge. Call Rill Adventure for shuttling your car. #waterlust

This bouncy suspension bridge took us over the Yakima River, making for a nice start to an excellent winter desert hike. There was a bit of snow on the trail but that didn't stop us from hunting for the remains of an old homestead and the apple orchard that served it.

We didn't see much wildlife other than the raptors that circled high above, although we understand that there are big horn sheep that live in the area. We'd like to come back when the wildflowers are out.
