We loved the location, space, and view! The house was stocked with everything we needed, save for olive oil and tin foil. We liked the hot tub, but I did need to contact customer service for the code to get in.

Great stay!

We loved the layout of this home as we could spread out on different floors, we really enjoyed the hot tub, and the view from the deck and the living room was gorgeous! It was a little bit longer walk to the beach than we expected, but the walk to town was easy. Unfortunately, the kitchen situation was a little funky, there wasn’t a single regular frying pan on which we could cook the eggs or pancakes we planned, and there also wasn’t any salt and pepper. Other than that, we loved this home!

Yachats Family Vacation

Ocean Observatory was a wonderful home with a beautiful view of the ocean. The home was extremely clean and furnishings were well kept. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you would need. The hot tub was an added bonus after a long day out at the beach. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were nicely decorated. It felt like the host really made every effort to provide a comfortable home away from home. We would definitely stay there again.

My three sisters and I stayed 3 nights. It was so wonderful. Very close to Drift Inn Restaurant. Yummy. House was very clean, open living room for dancing, big table for games, well stocked kitchen, 2 and a half baths, great hot tub. We all want to return.

Weekend stay in Yachets

The house has a great view and lots of room. However the Futon in the basement was not able to be used as a bed like described in the listing. There are a lot of trees and bushes on the property and the ones in the drive way and by the stairs leading up to the front door need to be cut back. It is a close walk down the hill to town and the beach.

Cozy home for our Family gathering

This was a lovley house. So much room with three floors. We had a total of 10 people. Four kids and six adults. We found that the house was well stocked with plates and dishes. Lots of linens for extra blankets was very nice too. We did not use the hottub cause we went to the beach just down the hill. Super close in fact. but appreciated that it was there. The grill was really clean and cooked our meals really well. Plenty of parking. We really had a great time here nad would love to come back again. Highly reccomended.

We really liked the location, the view was good and it is walking distance to the shops and restaurants, there is also a hot tub which is great, three bathrooms, and a pretty open living room. The sleeping arrangement is a little funky - there are three normal beds, a futon, and two fold up twin sized cots which wasn’t the best set up for all couples, but not the worst either and maybe work well for other groups. Some things could use updating, such as pillows. Many of them are old and browned also with lots of stains which doesn’t make it feel very clean. Whoever cleaned before our stay could have done a better job with the kitchen and bathrooms, but that is more on the cleaning company than the owner.

Fun and beautiful

We loved staying in the cute little village of Yachats! Thankfully we brought plenty of food because there are few restaurants and groceries nearby. The house was really fun for 6 kids and 4 adults. The kitchen was pretty well stocked with cooking items, even a rice cooker and basic spices that we used. The lighter was helpful to do a fire on the beach across the street and make s’mores. The listing said two twin beds and those were just roll out beds in the basement, not real beds in a bedroom. It took us an hour to figure out how to plug the hot tub in and get it heating up. Overall, we loved this cute house and the view was gorgeous. I loved sitting on the deck overlooking the ocean, eating blackberry cobbler from wild blackberries we picked, smelling the lilacs and watching hummingbirds, while my kids played with the friends we were staying with.

Great view and location

Loved the huge windows onto the deck with a tremendous ocean view. The kitchen was small but had all the necessary equipment to cook our dinners. There are a lot of steps to reach the front door, but the back entrance has stepping stones leading up the hill which was a little easier. The bedrooms were nicely sized. The Sofa bed is really a futon in a lower level game room and the twin beds are roll aways kept in a closet. This was the room I stayed in and it had a musty smell. I ran the dehumidifier the entire time which helped but was noisy. I ended up sleeping in the recliner because the futon wasn't very comfortable. My friends loved their rooms and beds- so don't get the short straw when it's time to choose where you sleep!

Had a great stay here! Was here late July for my wedding, so had a full house with our family and a friend. Great location on the hill but an easy walk. Great layout of house, lots of room, would definitely stay here again!

A fun family summer stay

Our family of 6 - aged 25 to 93 had a great time! The multiple floors gave everyone space to stretch out and have some quiet time - and the house had plenty of room for us to come together. The location is terrific - close enough to walk to town - and the beach. We look forward to coming back!
