"Nice apartment, ideal positioning, Illfracombe is very steep, but lovely walks to be had. Car parking is free after 6pm in the town also. We didn’t use the facilities but pool looked a decent size.
Cushions on the bed were very hard. Could maybe do with a couple of soft ones in the wardrobe as a just incase. Lovely place overall. "

"Love this hotel so much. There was some confusion over the room that I thought I had booked, but that was really my fault rather than the hotel, but they went to all lengths to make sure we were happy - and we were. Staff are super friendly, not just in the hotel but the restaurant for breakfast and in the attached pub next door. Such a great stay - thank you for looking after us :) "
"What a gorgeous house in a beautiful area, well run by a lovely couple. We had a wonderful stay; this little gem is tucked away on a quiet hillside spot, with breathtaking views of the coast and on the doorstep of lovely walks, and just a few minutes walk to the towns of Lynton & Lynmouth. Our room was lovely; warm, clean and spacious, a pretty and comfortable bed, soft bedding and nice pillows with a great sea view. The communal lounge had a cosy atmosphere, decorated for Christmas and stocked with books, games and a puzzle on the go. The weather wasn’t great so we did spend quite a bit of time indoors so it was nice to have such a pleasant communal area to relax. The boot room was handy, with space to leave muddy boots to dry and umbrella’s to borrow. The breakfast room was light and airy with lovely comfortable furniture. Both rooms have a sea view. The breakfast was outstanding, good quality produce with lots on offer. We had our evening meals at the nearby North Cliff Hotel, food was reasonably priced and very good, as was the service. As the weather was poor it was nice to have this option just a two minute walk away. Our hosts, Sam and Annie, were delightful and accommodating; nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend and we will be back, hopefully we’ll enjoy better weather! "
"Reception staff were friendly and helpful, especially when we arrived and helped us with our bags. The room was quite big and had a side sea view and it was lovely sleeping with the window open, listening to the sea. The room was very hot but better on second night as we'd left the window open all day. The room and bedding were clean. Room decor was very plain, could have done with a few pictures.
As other reviews have said, hot water took a while to come through and even then, was fine for me but my husband prefers a hotter shower. Also, the water didn't drain away quickly enough.
No food or bar available but we knew this beforehand. There are plenty of choices of cages, pubs and restaurants within 5-10 minites walk for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
It was excellent value for money bit bear in mind, the low price reflects the fact that decor could do with an overhaul. At this price though, we would definitely consider staying again."
"We enjoyed a 3 night stay at the Crown Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. All the staff were welcoming and friendly and ensured that we had everything we needed. The en-suite room was clean and comfortable and the meals were generously proportioned. We will recommend this hotel to friends and family. "
"Melanie and Nick were very nice and the breakfast was excellent. Off-road parking on site is very convenient and a car charger available if needed. Easy walk into Lynton and short drive to Valley of the rocks. We would stay there again."
