"The property is old and quaint, while Ivan is humorous and welcoming. The experience of staying at a historical property far beat the normal cookie-cutter experience for us. We had everything we needed, with good access to Waterton parks. This isn't a Hilton... it's Coblestone Manor, rustic and adorable!"
Old Chief Bunkhouse - ranch with views of Chief Mountain
10/10 Excellent
"Very clean and well stocked with the essentials. Location was excellent...just over the Canadian border approximately 30 minute drive to Many Glaciers in Glacier National Park. Being a working ranch and coming back to the bunkhouse and its open areas was very relaxing. We were treated one evening to a buck checking us out through the window. We saw other wildlife in the distance. Waterton and the Canadian Rocky Mountains are also a 30 minute drive. Terry and his wife made our stay memorable."
"We really enjoyed staying here. Close enough to Waterton, Cameron Lake, Red Rock Canyon, and all the things we wanted to see. There's a convenience store in Mountain View, about 5 mins drive, has gasoline, ice cream, chips, candy, etc. The kids enjoyed the playground/obstacle course and basketball. The grounds are well-maintained. There are only a handful of "Wilderness huts" at the site. The rest are campers. We stayed in Wolf's Lair - kids shared the upstairs loft. The unit has a 1/2 bath - had handsoap but it didn't need to have shampoo and conditioner. The showers are conveniently located steps away from the unit. Not sure if it has soap/shampoo and conditioner (probably not, bring your own?) The host provided lots of kitchen and bath towels. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bbq grill on the deck, and the electric stove inside worked really great. Bring citronella to combat mosquitos if you wanna eat on the deck. The private firepit outside was lovely. Ask the host for firestarter. Lastly, the sunset on a summer day paints the lake a beautiful gold. We would stay here again."
Family cottage 15 mins from Waterton, AB! Perfect Winter Getaway
10/10 Excellent
"Everything was so clean. Had everything we needed in the kitchen, very organized and functional .Will definitely stay here againThank-you so much; was a great stay!!"
"We were there for my dad's funeral so it wasn't a happy stay but it held all of my kids and grandkids that came. That was nice and much cheaper than paying for 3 hotel rooms. Great location. Looking over the hill we used to sled down when we visited my grandparents back in the dark age."
