Top Woman Lake Wildlife Management Area Hotel Reviews
Pine Peaks Lodge & Suites
2/10 Terrible
"If you're desperate, stay here. Make sure you confirm room type, king versus double queen. After you confirm your rate thru Expedia, get ready for another 3.5% added to your bill upon checkout for credit card usage, even if they tell you what your "exact" charge is on check-in. Who pays cash for hotel rooms? Incidentally, there's NO elevator!! For 2nd floor access"
"What an absolutely fabulous place. Truly a place that overdelivers in all aspects! We held a small 25 person wedding here and it was absolutely incredible.Communication: Clay will provide more information than you could possibly need. You will likely not need to reach out for anything.Location: Private road. Private lake. Long secluded driveway. It is incredibly quiet and peaceful. You are completely secluded, and yet only 3 mins away from crosslake where they have a grocery store, shops, gas, and places to eat. 38 min drive from Brainerd.Sleeping: There are actually 8 bedrooms, 5 of which are on a separate wing away from main gathering areas. They have places set up for kids to play, and all bedrooms are spacious. The master bedroom is stunning.Amenities: Almost everything in this house is high quality. Wolf appliances for cooking, double oven and large stove for cooking for large groups. Extremely spacious. We had 25 people and nobody felt crowded.Outdoor: They have a massive back yard, patio area, and sandy beach with a dock. The beach into water area is large and very gradual. Great for kids or water activities. Perhaps the best part about this home is the covered walkway patio area. This area is huge and directly connected to the kitchen, has patio furniture and a fireplace. An absolutely wonderful place should you need to pivot if weather turns bad. I have stayed at many VRBO properties and this one ranks at the top of the list!"
"The positive: They mow the lawns and have irrigation to keep the landscape looking good. Yes, that is the only positive.
The negatives: The room smelled like musty wet carpet. The carpet was so disgusting it made you want to keep your shoes on. If you lock your key in the room you better do it during office hours, or you will sleeping in your truck for the night. No emergency # on the door. I wanted to check out before 8am, apparently you can’t. No key drop, or other way to checkout before a human arrives.
On site restaurant: I had the smothered chicken, one breast was ok, the other tasted like I was chewing on a raw breast, it was impossible to chew it was so rubbery. The bartender eventually asked how everything was, after I was sitting there finished for 10 minutes (I sat at the bar). I told him about the breast and he stated “really, it’s usually one of the best on the menu” ,rung up my ticket and handed it to me. The actual server who took my order apparently dislikes his job, had no personality and never came back to see how the meal was.
Onto the worse of the worse, the boat ramp, if you want to call it that, was without exaggeration at a 45 degree angle once your trailer hit the water. I was told they just fixed it!! Never have I experienced this, nor would I have used it if they would have let me know prior to backing in. I seriously think it tweaked my trailer. There is so much more and more details that could be provided, but only 1500 characters are allowed."
