A lovely hotel with a great Bistro. Food in the evening was superb and the breakfast was good too. Nice spot from which to explore Winchester.

We enjoyed the location of the hotel, being an easy walk to the High Street and various places of interest. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of items. Lovely comfortable room. Staff friendly and helpful. We would stay again.

I enjoyed a solo overnight stay in one of the cottage rooms. I liked the decor of the room - a fun bright pink and green. The bathroom did seem rather dated now and was a little at odds with the more modern bedroom. I would stay here again - the service in the hotel was attentive without being over fussy and obviously the main hotel is very charming.

Disappointing from a usually excellent brand.
Disappointing in January to have to request air conditioning because of a hot room and not being able to open the windows. Also the dreaded low water pressure in the shower and a non-functioning car park barrier.

Ideal for weekend break
Comfortable spacious room, friendly helpful staff, excellent breakfast. The hotel is just off the main shopping street so very well placed. There is not a lift and the car park has steps to and from so would not be ideal for someone who cannot manage steps and stairs.

It really is lovely. Room was huge and warmly decorated. Good selection of ‘in room’ amenities such as coffee machine, chocolates, good quality shampoo/conditioner. Room service is of really good quality and the breakfast is really nice too

Lovely hotel convenient for all the main sights
Really lovely stay. Arrived Sunday at 1.15 pm and not only were we given a room upgrade but we were able to check in early. Had booked the half board option in advance so had a great evening meal and very lovely breakfast for a great price. Room was great, Very comfy bed, large bathroom with a good shower, lovely L'Occitane toiletries and plenty of hot water (unlike a lot of Winchester which was having a problem with its water supply Sunday/Monday.). Staff were friendly and helpful, including sending back my phone charger that I left in the room. Thank you!

Hotel Du Vin was an excellent place to stay, well located a very short stroll to the main high street of Winchester & 10 minute walk of the train station. The room itself was immaculate with nice touches. Front desk were very welcoming & helpful.

Nice hotel in central Winchester
Pleasant hotel, breakfast and dinner very good, staff friendly, easy short walk to the centre of town and cathedral. Great option if want to stay in central Winchester however worth noting this is an old building, with no lift and some imperfections.

The hotel is well situated, ideal for sightseeing in Winchester. Work was going on to repair water damage and whilst it was unavoidable that the builders use the staircase to carry out rubble, etc it would have been good practice to cover the buckets as the staircase was very dusty and the handrail not very nice to use. The bedroom was large and comfortable but the bathroom was tiny and I was very glad we only had one night - I'd have been rather upset if I'd booked to stay over Christmas and had to cope in such a small space with no shelves, etc. Special recognition for the young lady in the bar who was really lovely, mixed a great cocktail and had good local knowledge.

Okay stay, not worth the price tag.
An average stay but not worth the price tag. For almost £300 per night, I’d expect an immaculate hotel however when I arrived there were two holes in ceilings near my room with water leaking out. I requested room service for dinner as there were no tables free in the bistro, I was told I couldn’t have something from the menu in my room as it was for 9:30pm onwards so they recommended a risotto that was similar. I wish I’d just been given a full menu that I could order from and choose something myself as the dish was swimming in pesto oil and wasn’t enjoyable. Room service was meant to be available from 9:30pm throughout the night but when I enquired at night, there was no chef and sandwiches were all that were available. No breakfast included in the price. The bathroom was clean but skirting boards in the bedroom looked dirty. It is a beautiful old building which understandably needs maintenance every now and again but the price tag felt too steep for the quality of the stay.

Great mini break in the middle of Winchester!
Great hotel, centrally located in Winchester town. So comfortable, the staff were so helpful and nice. Breakfast was fabulous and the bar the night before cosy and comfortable. Easy access to the Christmas markets and all the high street markets! Remember to book your parking at the hotel to make life really easy. Totally recommend this hotel.

Hotel was ok but the building need some repairs. Hallway ceiling outside my room was about to collapse. A leak was causing the ceiling to collapse and a very bad patch up job.

We really enjoyed our dinner. The flavours in the sea bass on papillote were wonderful. The Vouvray (one of the lower priced wines on the list) was delicious and went well with it. We enjoyed digestif in garden. Location is great with parking. All staff were efficient and friendly. Bedroom was comfortable. Lovely old building. This is the type of hotel and restaurant that we love.

Lovely
Me and my young baby had a lovely stay. Staff kindly reserved the largest parking space for us so that we had plenty of room to get in and out. They helped us with our bags and we’re just generally really welcoming and helpful. The food was lovely and the rooms are so beautifully furnished. The one improvement I would make are the cots provided are quite dated and uncomfortable. I would bring my own in future.

This is our second visit and the food never disappoints BUT the management MUST put blinds at the bedroom windows in the front of the building, the street is narrow and the people opposite look straight in to the bedrooms, the staff at the hotel told me they have requested this but no joy from their head office!
