We spent a lovely few days in the cottage. It is clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The local pub, the New Inn is very friendly and serves excellent food. The cottage is well placed as a base to explore the surrounding towns, villages and countryside, the most notable being Rye - check out the Waterworks microbrewery for a really friendly pub serving great beers, wines and gins.
We would definitely return to the cottage.
Lovely house, well equipped. Needs some r TLC. It was not possibile to open the window in one of the bedroom. The mattress in the other bedroom needs replacing, springs too soft and on the right hand side rhere is a significant dent.
There was a leak in the kitchen ceiling the first morning, after contacting the house manager it was fixed promptly. We loved the village and the comfort stay.

Excellent location and charming house but needs some maintenence
Winchealsea is a real gem! The house is in a brilliant location, it's charming, nicely decorated and comfortable, with a good shower and good beds. The kitchen is also well equipped. We must mention though, that it really needs some maintenance, there are numerous things that need a spruce up, fixing or replacing. It has the feel of a place that has been done up nicely many years ago, but has only had basic care since then. We've ended up with quite a bit of a list to feedback which we will email the owners directly. We also missed a bit of that personal welcoming touch. The communication with the key holding services were purely transactional, with no welcome message or little treat waiting for us at the house which we experienced everywhere else we booked so far. Having said all that, we had a wonderful time and would definitely book again if those maintenance items were addressed.
Everything you need for a comfortable family holiday in a fabulous location. Newly decorated and such comfy beds!! Very friendly locals, we were welcomed to share jubilee events. Perfect for pub, walks and sights of the area. Lots of pots, pans, utensils etc.The garden was great and much bigger than we expected. A great holiday was had

We had a lovely break in Winchelsea Cottage. The village location is just gorgeous; close to the beach, Rye and Camber Sands. The accommodation itself is very clean & tidy yet it maintains its 1950s authenticity.

Spent 3 days here cottage felt very homely, “toilet” upstairs was nothing more than a cupboard that my 6”4 son couldn’t use as the door wouldn’t close
But it was very well equipped and we ate at the local pub both nights as the food was amazing, great value and all the staff were very friendly.
Would happily book to stay here again

Located in a lovely little village not far from the sea. The bedrooms were a good size as was the well equipped kitchen. Extra touches were tea, coffee, milk and a bottle of wine. We would definitely stay again. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay in the cottage, and the village of Winchelsea is delightful. A brilliant base for walkers. I would recommend.
The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped but I suggest there are a few areas that need a bit of attention. The key safe is very stiff and difficult to open. The front door lock is tricky...probably just in need of some maintenance. The downstairs loo...is frustrating when there is a party of 5 in the house.

The accommodation is very comfortable.
The accommodation is very comfortable. Our only negative would be the upstairs loo- it’s effectively in a cupboard ( a proper water closet!) but does mean people can still access it if the bathroom is engaged.

We had a lovely time staying in Winchelsea cottage.
We had a lovely time staying in Winchelsea cottage. The kitchen was well equipped and the garden much larger than the pictures show. Winchelsea is a lovely little place with an historic church, a cute farm shop and a decent play park. The cottage was adequate though quite tired in places. The third bedroom didn’t have a radiator which made is chilly! Would recommend a stay here.
