Bus was every 30mins, a little bit of a walk from train station, not a lot of restaurant or store to choose from. Staff were very nice. It's an old hotel, bed and floor makes creaky sound. Understand no airconditioner so you open the window but staff smokes outside and it goes to your room. Breakfast was good!

The hotel is very old. The rooms are very simple but functional and clean. The mattress is hard even by European standards. Very nice breakfast. Walking distance to train station.

Hotel with long history of servitude
300 year old hotel in beautiful Interlaken. No lift. Room provided for 3 adults is crowded. Location is 15-20 minutes walk from Widerswill train station, but there’s bus service if you don’t want to walk. Breakfast is excellent! Will I choose to stay here again? Hotel too old for my taste but it serves its purpose. Thank you!

Wife wants to come back here
The hotel is a bit out of town but very easy transit using the guest pass provided by the hotel. Hotel itself had some creaky floor boards but was extremely comfortable after a lot of hiking and walking. The bed was the most comfortable bed we’ve had on our trip so far. Bathroom is small but shower was great.

Cute area with the best views. It was easy to catch the bus downtown. Breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had. Hotel is older but very clean. Bathroom had funky smell.

A great inn with a lot of character. The staff was very friendly, the included breakfast was fantastic, and the restaurant was very good.

Cosy stay
The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was perfect for our needs. We really enjoyed the breakfast. The Silvester Party on New Year's Eve was lots of fun. It was very generous. Only downswide, there was no snow! Proof of global warming :-(

Our stay at the Bear Inn was so comfy and cozy. Staff were nice and well assistance of my requesting. Also, breakfast was good too. Absolutely reasonable price and I am happy with my stay at this hotel.

Everything was great until I realized there was no elevator. We had to carry our big luggages up the stairs and nobody from the staff helped. This place is best for light travellers.

This hotel is older than my country. I loved every charming feature and would absolutely stay again. Great breakfast selection and the staff are genuine and conversational.

Location is good and easily accessible from bus and railway station. However, the room was on 3rd floor and property does not have lift / porter. Further, rooms are very small and owner is little rude.

Staff were friendly and helpful, in particular the waitress in the restaurant was lovely. Check in was simple. Hotel was clean and quiet. The design is a little quirky, the quickest way to our room was via the conference room, which we were diverted around one morning when a meeting was being conducted. The room was a little dated, but for the price we didn't expect 5 stars. The only real issue for us was that the beds were very hard and the continental pillows did not provide much support. Otherwise, our stay was satisfactory.

Old hotel with pretty old Furniture and Equipments. it seems they never upgraded. its quite sad to see that such a busy hotel is not spending money on upgrades. they can still keep the old status of building but atleast upgrade inside. Paid more than other hotels but it was waste of money, I suggest to book something else. Breakfast was wonderful with wonderful staff at the Restaurant Hotel has parking Location is good.

Simple but comfortable, not the room you see
We were very unlucky with the room, the rooms advertised as images on Hotels.com are only the ones in the main building, there is a huge 2nd building with very old and simple room. There was a curling group they were busy with and forgot us. No time to serve us in the restaurant. The sauna is in another building, we reserved it (as we had to with COVID) but they didn't turn it on although we specifically asked for it. They kind of forgot to serve us due to the big group. I guess we were unfortunate to stay there that night. But definitely be mindful of rooms that are advertised on Hotels.com, is not the one you get!

Beautiful hotel, nice service, clean, but It has poor soundproofing so you could hear the street noice, people in hall areas, people moving directly above (floors are quite squicky). It also felt a bit on a colder side in the room despite heater working properly.

This place is a home away from home with a wonderful restaurant. This rustic cabin style hotel is just such a lovely place. The employees are very nice and helpful to us — especially the woman assisting everyone during breakfast. The facility definitely makes you feel like home, and it is such a beautiful place to go home after a tiring hiking day! They are very accommodating and the food is very yummy!
