"We had a family break for 2 weeks with 4 adults, 2 kids and 2 small dogs. The cottage was clean, well equipped and cosy. It was very quiet and had plenty of space outside for the cars and for the kids to still play out. Location wise it was just a bit more isolated than what we are used to as everything was too far out to walk to. But driving, the local village was less than 10 mins away so it wasn't a negative. We are just used to walking. The owners were very informative, friendly and available if we needed anything. We would definitely stay again. It was a great little find for our summer holiday. If we had to give any feedback it would just be that the king-size mattress was not comfortable (but that's personal preference) and there was no corkscrew for the only time we forgot to buy a screw top bottle of wine. But nothing major to feedback on. Lovely stay in a lovely cottage."

"Joan was a fantastic hostess: she contacted us before the visit to ensure we had what we needed; left milk, tea, coffee, sugar and snacks for us on arrival and popped round to see us to make sure we were settled in and knew we were welcome to knock on if we needed anything then left us to enjoy our time there. It was a great base for exploring Cumbria and the northern Lake District. A little out of the way but that’s what we were after."
