"My husband said this was his favorite stay out of all 9 places we booked for our two week trip. Maurice & Laureen are genuinely gracious and we absolutely had the best breakfast of our entire trip in Scotland. Gourmet eggs benedict, we will never forget our experience and would love go return. "

"Very comfortable and well thought out room and welcoming hosts. Wonderful food and tranquil surroundings within good walking country and yet not far from Penrith. "

"Room was nice and spacious and in an excellent location.
It would have been useful to have directions to the car parking at Ambleside FC. Luckily I know the area so I knew where to park, but this wouldn't be the case for everyone."

"What a fantastic place !
Staff were great, and check-in was a breeze. The room was excellent, immaculate and spacious.
The decor throughout is an absolute credit to the owners, vintage, contemporary and stylish.
Great breakfast to set you up for a day on the fells.
We absolutely loved our stay, thank-you to everyone at the Grange !

"Great variety of hot, cooked-to-order breakfasts as well as wide range of continental items, all of which were great quality. We were also offered tea or fresh coffee and fresh juice that was brought to the table, along with toast. Room was comfortable and cosy. We had a balcony room overlooking Ambleside high street. Room was generally clean, just a few attention to details missing such as on the towel radiator. We ate in the restaurant ain’t the evening, enjoyed the food we ordered (main and dessert). We had an Irish coffee in the bar afterwards. Would be nice to have a drinks menu in the bar offering a wider selection/few cocktails as there was only a wine menu. Service was great throughout our stay. We used the pool which was nice, really liked the outdoor spa pool. The steam and sauna were ok but didn’t have very good seals around the door so the didn’t reach the high temperature I’m used to. "
"Great Hotel, really friendly staff, meal choices good. Parking is a bit restricted and tight albeit there is a public car park next door, whicjh I didn't need to use.Chris when serving us was outstanding. Will use again, highly recommended"
"Everything was very clean and the property is beautiful. It’s nice to see a place maintain the original design. The carpet in the room was looking a little tired but not too bad. "
