"The owner was kind and helpful. Late arrival was easily arranged. Beautiful view across the lake to the snow-capped mountains. Bed is comfortable and the acommodation is cosy and equipped as needed, though without a TV. Location is ideal for trips to Doubtful Sound. This is a budget stay, so don’t expect anything fancy, but it does well what it says on the tin. "

"I had low expectations of this motel having stayed at a Queenstown hotel the night before, but couldn’t believe how fantastic this place was! Great layout and facilities and immaculately clean! We didn’t meet any staff but they left us very friendly notes to explain why they weren’t available and to ensure we had everything we needed "

"The property is a little dated but it was clean and quiet. Reception is not always staffed however when I rang about leaving my bag because I was arriving early I was advised to leave my bag at the Village Inn. When I returned to check in Teddy offered to drive me to the Alpenhorn Motel, so going over and beyond. At the end of my stay Teddy was extremely helpful and offered to drive me to the bus stop. Thanks a million. "
