Stayed at the old castle for 3 nights and we were not disappointed. Very welcoming, friendly proprietors. Excellent breakfast and the room was very well kept. Highly recommended
Quiet location, handy for Rodwell path into Weymouth . Friendly local bar. Excellent breakfast, everthing hot as cooked to order at specific time. Bar meals could be useful addition but plenty of nearby dining options.
Perfectly located near Weymouth and Portland. Great cozy room with very clean and fresh looking en-suite. Breakfast was amazing everyday and the host was so accommodating and friendly. Will definitely be staying again!
We stayed for three nights. It is located in a quiet residential street and a very short distance from a trail which leads to the town centre and Chisel Beach. We enjoyed our evening walk after dinner. Both Portland and Durdle Door are less than 15 minutes drive away. Chisel Beach is only 20 minutes walk. I would recommend to take some lunch and spend a few hours on the beach.
A very pleasant three days break and we had the perfect weather as well.
Stayed here for two nights with my wife. Very satisfied overall. Some onsite parking but plenty around as well so no issues at all. Easy walk into town through a nice path. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Didn't have a drink at the pub but the garden area looked great on a sunny day.
What a nice place to stay, hosts were lovely, nothing too much trouble, breakfast was superb ,good choice and cooked beautifully, always hot. Our room was comfortable, no,street noise and had everything we needed. We would stay again and would recommend it.

Satisfactory budget accommodation
We chose to stay here because it had parking and we didn’t want to have to spend ages looking for parking in Weymouth. It’s an easy twenty minute walk to the harbour which was fine for us. The really good things about the pub are the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners and the breakfast which, although quite limited in choice ( cereal and/or cooked breakfast), was hot and fresh - lovely!
Our room was a good size and had been recently decorated but still managed to look a bit dated, probably because the walls were still wood cop paper and the ceilings artexed. The bathroom was cosy and the shower might have been difficult if you were anything more than average build as it was very small. And I do like a bath sheet rather than a towel; they were also a bit small. There was no housekeeping. The bed was a little hard for me but that’s personal preference; however, the pillows were hard and flat and not very comfortable.
This is fine for a weekend but perhaps not for any longer.
The overall experience with this hotel is excellent, the owners Dianne and Martin are very welcoming and friendly and sees to it that our needs are met! Hotel is clean, only thing missing is hair dryer but that doesn’t affect our stay.
Clean, comfortable and welcoming.
The accommodation is well located in Weymouth to allow free parking yet easy walking distances to all the great amenities that the town has to offer.
Nice breakfast laid on too.
Had a lovely 2-night stay here.
Friendly & helpful service, fantastic room, great breakfast - highly recommend.
Easy 15 minute walk into Weymouth and only a few minutes walk from the Rodwell Trail.
Welcomed when arrived, quick & easy check in. Room clean & spacious. Excellent breakfast, would definitely return on next visit to Weymouth as great location.
A wonderful stay. The room was as per our expectation so really happy. Breakfast was excellent and service was accommodating on all levels. With current restrictions in place we needed to use takeaways as food was not available at the hotel but the owners made this very easy and went the extra mile and supplied all we needed. On approach, the hotel looks like a work in progress but it is very clear the owners are working towards revitilising the hotel to a higher standard. We wish them all the best and would happily return at some point in the future.
The Old Castle hotel was the very best small Hotel that
we have every stayed in.. The owners could not have been
more helpful.
thank you

The check in was good and friendly. Shown to our rooms and everything was explained to us as per COVID rules. The breakfast was good. Town of Weymouth was a 20 minute walk away but was able to get a bus from the main road if needed to. Would recommend the hotel.
This hotel and pub was an amazing choice. Such a lovely couple who run the place and perfect room. Loved the local tips and the location was so close to a nice quiet beach and right on a bike path!
Lovely stay here for a 2 day couple break
Nice quiet location near a small local beach and very handy to walk into town via local trail in a disused railway.. approx 1 mile but nice and flat
Our room was clean and recently decorated by the new owners who are very friendly and made our stay very enjoyable
Ample parking locally and breakfast excellent
