This a slightly dated property in a rural setting. Room was comfortable but somewhat gloomy. Breakfast lacked imagination and hot choice very limited. Dinner was excellent. There were a lot of mosquitoes in and around the hotel.

Great location on the outskirts of Wesel. Excellent breakfast with friendly serving staff. Room cramped but clean. My only complaint was that fridge didn't work but when I reported it to recpetion was told it was a mini bar and not a fridge!!!

The food was great and the waitress was really helpful and friedly. The rooms were dreadful, in need of total redecoration. One 'comfort' roon had odd curtains that were hanging off the rail. The other 'comfort' room which was no smoking stank of smoke and it was generally dirty, run down and the curtains didn't work. We had booked this room specifically for 3 people, 2 adults and one child, paying extra for this room. On arrival the hotel demanded an extra 25 euros for the third person to have a sofa bed. According to the hotel it is ok for 2 adults and a chld up to 14 years old to share a standard double bed.

Haus Duden was Low-Key Enjoyable
A charming, period hotel with retro built-in furniture and bathroom fittings but in an era of eco-awareness, why rip things out just to update them when they are in perfect working condition. Given long enough, the built-in wooden furniture will take on a period charm of its own and become an aspect of the hotel worth visiting on its own. Grounds are lovely with a beautiful view of surrounding countryside. If soundproofing between rooms were possible, it might be worth looking into. Breakfast was nice and had a good meal in the restaurant one night. Would definitely stay again.

Nice quiet place to relax. Good bar and Restaurant. Large breakfast. Comfortable bed. Old Farmhouse there Mr. Duden was born in 1829, turned into a nice hotel.

Clean and Quiet
Quiet location with pleasant staff throughout the hotel. The lack of aircon was a big issue but given that the temperatures were unusual for the area, this can be forgiven and shouldnt be an issue for future travellers. Fitness suite could do with an upgrade also. Check in and check out were probably the quickest I have ever experienced, good free wifi and a nice breakfast too.

Good Stay and Great Staff
The Hotel was very nice and quaint. The location, just outside of town, was perfect for rest and relaxation without any noise or distractions. The staff was great and extremely accomodating. Breakfast was also very good! I would stay againt without hesitation if my travels take me back, or near Wesel.

The staff was kind and helpful. Hotel history was intellectually stimulating. Child-friendly. Beautiful location. Close to Rhine River. Roman festival at nearby Archaeological Park/Museum.

I booked this hotel because I couldn't stay at my usual hotel in nearby Bocholt. The Haus Duden is a quaint hotel with an older historic building and a newer one with new rooms. I stayed in the new section and found the rooms to be nice: clean, spacious (for Europe), well-maintained. The hotel is situated in a suburban area but the hotel grounds have a rural feel. There was even the pleasant aroma in the air from nearby farming. The location was convenient. A car is necessary for reaching offsite restaurants.

Great location and pleasant service. Only down sides were Wi-Fi did not work, hotel restaurant was closed one night, then overbooked the next (it would have been nice if the staff had advised that reservations would be required). All that said, I would stay at this hotel again.

Hotel Haus Duden in Wesel
Room was quite spacious and amenities were great. Breakfast buffet excellent, but dinner forgettable. Location on edge of town next to corn fields, but that's an advantage - it's quiet. Service staff friendly and amenable. No complaints.

We stayed in this hotel on our way from Denmark to the UK and it as like an oasis. We did not recognise the lukewarm description given by some former guests. The ensuite rooms were very comfortable and clean, the shower hot and powerful, the breakfast generous and delicious and the staff very helpful. All this for an extremely reasonable price. There is a small town nearby with a large supermarket where basics can be bought. The hotel also had bicycles for hire and the surrounding area was pretty and perfect for cycling. I would not hesitate to stay here again. We were able to have our dog, a well-behaved Miniature Schnauzer, with us overnight for a small extra fee. Some constructive feedback however: the wifi really does struggle to work in the rooms and this could be easily repaired. We eventually logged on but only after a lot of trying, touching of wood and holding of breaths.

Ontbijt echt Super , vers brood en broodjes div lekkernijen als beleg . ————————— Het enigste vervelende was om ff 06.00 uur de leverancier toch wel ruim 10min duidelijk geluid overlast bezorgde , daar door vanaf 06.00 uur wakker erg vervelend op je 1ste vakantiedag. Wij hadden kamer 9. , mocht u deze kamer krijgen vraag om een kamer aan de kant van het bos .

Wir sind zu zweit mit Hund gereist. Für den Hund muss man 15€ pro Tag bezahlen, dass liegt im oberen Bereich. 4 Sterne für das Hotel sind meiner Meinung nach nicht gerechtfertigt. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit einer in die Jahre gekommen Möblierung. Die Heizung ließ sich nicht bedienen. Die Deckenbeleuchtung war so schwach, sodass wir sämtliche Lampen anmachen mussten, um ausreichende Helligkeit im Zimmer zu haben. Die Minibar war ausgeschaltet und ließ sich nicht einschalten. Das Badezimmer war geräumig und soweit sauber, aber auch älter und etwas abgenutz. Der Treppenaufgang und anschließender Flur wurden während der Dauer unseres Aufenthaltes nicht gesaugt. Es lagen immer noch die selben Flusen auf dem Boden, wie bei unserer Ankunft . Das Restaurant und der Frühstücksraum sind sehr ansprechend und gepflegt, die Bedienung ausnehmend freundlich. Das Frühstück und das Essen im Restaurant waren gut. Die Sauna war in Ordnung, die Dusche hatte teilweise Schimmel an den Fugen. Der Ruheraum hatte 3 Liegen. Es waren ausreichend Handtücher vorhanden. Das Personal an der Rezeption war, bis auf eine Dame, freundlich und nett. Da wir aufgrund einer Erkrankung früher abreisen mussten, war man so kulant, uns die Zusatzkosten für den Hund am letzten Tag zu erlassen. Wir hatten übriges nicht das Zimmer, das auf dem Foto zusehen war. Es gibt auch noch einen neueren Trakt, dort sind die Zimmer wahrscheinlich netter.

Einfaches, sauberes Zimmer. Ruhige Lage am Stadtrand (für mich optimal, da ich Freunde in der unmittelbaren Umgebung besucht habe). Für Radtouren am Niederrhein gut geeignet, für Stadtbesuch vielleicht etwas weit außerhalb (mit dem Auto ist man aber auch schnell in der Innenstadt). Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Freundliche Mitarbeiter.
