Beautiful property on a cozy creek. Clean and comfortable. Not too far of a drive to town and convenient access the Blue Ridge Parkway. My only complaint is the check in process required me to sign ALOT of documents (like 20 some odd times), sending a photo of my CC and then sending a photo of myself which is seemed counter to the point of using an app like VRBO. The reason given by the property is because of a last minute booking (within a week). If they can get rid of the all of that absurd check-in process I'd be thrilled to rent the property again.
I loved staying at this property. The location was great. Falling asleep to the creek was peaceful. Wildlife in the area were friendly. Thank you for everything.
The house and firepits were greatly enjoyed. The noise from the surrounding stream that wraps around was so serene. I highly recommend this rental if you're in the area. Especially right at that magical time of Fall when all the leaves are changing colors!
Well stocked home with comfy beds and great natural views. Enjoyed our proximity to weaverville and asheville. The wild turkeys were a great welcoming committee. Only problem was with tv reception and truly no cell service. Would like to stay here next year when we travel back to visit our dear friends. Thanks for opening your home to us!
Great location! Like stated in previous reviews the turkeys and the bear were a great welcoming committee. No cell service but that's what we wanted. Peaceful and relaxing!!!
This property is beautiful! Private and secluded, my babies loved playing in the creek. Both fire pits are what you would expect with primitive camping deep in the woods, but you can walk right back up to the house if you need a break from the heat or bugs. The screened in porch was great for playing cards on a rainy night, would be made even better with a fan and some string lights! Only complaint was a strong mildew/mold smell in the master bedroom. We would definitely recommend and stay again!
The home was nice. Bigger than anticipated. Well stocked. Very nice outdoor spaces. Water pressure was great. AC worked well.
There were some issues, however.
Both bathroom doors were squeaky and the back one was hard to open and close.
The back bedroom closet was extremely musty smelling and we couldn’t use it as our clothes would have absorbed that smell. This also made the back bedroom a little musty smelling.
The biggest issue was with TV and internet service. The only TV service was through streaming, but the home does not have enough high speed internet service to allow for TV. All the high speed service for the month had been used by other guests so we had no TV. This also made general internet service very slow and sketchy. I would suggest that if more internet service is not available in this area, that the owners resign up for their Dish service so that both general internet and TV can he enjoyed by all the renters.
We had a wonderful stay during our winter break! The home/cabin was cozy, clean, and very family-friendly, which made it perfect for traveling with kids. The layout was comfortable and thoughtfully set up, and we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. One of our favorite parts was the creek—it added such a peaceful touch to the experience. Sitting outside and listening to the water was incredibly relaxing, and the kids loved exploring around it. It really made the stay feel special and memorable. The location was also a big plus. It was convenient to get to everything we wanted to do, while still feeling quiet and tucked away enough to truly unwind. The host was detailed with directions, and check-in was easy.Overall, this was a great place to relax, recharge, and enjoy time together as a family. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others looking for a comfortable and peaceful getaway.
Very comfortable, nicely decorated, the kitchen was more than sufficient for our needs, situated next to a creek that was great to relax next to. Check was very easy. Highly recommend and will make reservations again. Driving up the road to the cottage we saw deer, lots of turkeys, and a black bear.
Close to Blue Ridge Parkway (hiking) and great small town of Weaverville. Remote enough that we really felt we had gotten away from the city and could enjoy each other’s company without distractions.
This place was beautiful, clean, simple, restful, peaceful, and simply amazing. We found ourselves wanting to stay there to enjoy the fire by the beautiful mountain stream. This was a great home away from home.
Awesome Mountain Retreat - Close to Asheville River Arts District
The property is wonderful with very nice, updated kitchen, baths, flooring, and furnishings throughout. It was really nice to sit on the screened porch during a rain storm too! Lot's to do nearby including a very nice hike up to Rattlesnake Lodge Trail.
We absolutely loved Creekside Retreat!! Everything about it inside and out was just as pictured and more! The town of Weaverville was quaint and getting to Asheville was quick and easy also. We were sad to leave and will definitely stay here again if we are in the area in the future
