Bill and Paul were fantastic hosts - great communication before and during our stay. We had to return to the mainland for a few days (unplanned) and Bill was happy to arrange everything (boat, hotel, pick up and drop off).
We stayed for around 12 days. Great food prepared fresh by Paula -fruits, homemade bread, fresh fish, cassava. Beautiful location, super friendly village and very relaxed vibe. Great snorkeling in front of the bungalow, all the way to the sandbar.
Also highly recommend the boat trip out to swim with the reef sharks!! When we arrived we were the only people there, then the boatloads of other tourists arrived so Bill took us to a different spot not far away where we saw more sharks and were the only ones there. Can't beat the local knowledge.
A points to note/things to bring with you. We also suggest reading the other reviews on this site which have helpful information:
* The island is a 1hr long boat ride from Lautoka. Between the two of us we did the trip 5 times, most trips were calm and sunny. But a couple were quite choppy. Beautiful views all the way though.
* We stayed in both the bungalow but also spent a few nights up the hill in Bill and Paula's house. The bungalow is right on the beach, simple but spacious and a little bit more private.
* Bring any comforts and essentials with you e.g. bottled water, water sterilising tablets, snacks, bug repellent, (we both were loved by the local mozzies). There are no shops/facilities on the island.
* Mobile phone reception is basically non existent. We were not able to get any reliable reception to keep in contact with the outside world, so best to let your people know you will likely be out of contact.
We would love to get back there one day!
