New in our program, this home has many great reviews from past guests.

Fabulous, beautifully decorated accommodations can be yours to experience at MacMurren! A superb ocean view, an enclosed eight-person hot tub room on the middle floor, and Tommy Bahama-style decor give this home a tropical feel. Relax with a book in the second sitting room (library) with fireplace, or in the spacious game room with a pool table and kitchenette. There is a large 12'x30' private pool for your enjoyment and sun decks to catch some rays or take in the ocean views.

The four beautifully painted bedrooms offer two king beds, two double beds, and two singles when you are ready to rest from the day's exertions. After a break, head out to the furnished sundecks to soak in some extra sun, or grab a snack from the small poolside kitchenette before you jump back in! Perhaps catch some viewing or listening entertainment on one of six TVs, three VCRs, three DVD players or two stereo/CD players. A delicious dinner can be prepared in the spacious, tiled kitchen and two available refrigerators will ensure you can properly store any edible treats.

Great House Quiet Location

This house is very nice especially for a multi-couple/multi-family gathering. Very comfortable set up, great pool, and good beach views. Waves is quieter than other parts of the OBX such as Kitty Hawk and Nags Head. It has a nice home-town feel about it.

Awsome home!

This was the first VRBO house i have ever rented that I didnt need to go buy anything for. Very well stocked with everything you may need. The pool was absolutely amaxing and the brach was so close! The hot tub was so nice for relaxing after a long day of playing in the sun.Will book this place again for sure!

House was great. Well maintained and clean, nice layout with plenty of spaces to get away from the group if you want to. Good location, with nice driveway. Pool and hot tub were very nice. Short walk over the dune to the beach. Our third year in OBX and this was our favorite place so far.

How was amazing and had all the space amenities our family and three kids could ask for. Plenty of kitchen supplies to cook meals. Beach access was perfect and the view from the balcony was amazing for morning coffee. We loved the library and enjoyed looking at the many photo albums of the house throughout the years. Relaxing time. Beautiful beach and home. We enjoyed cooking, watching tv, walking on the beach and just generally hanging out. Watch out for the prickly along the grass!

Great pool!

This beach house was as expected per the description. It accommodated our large group nicely. We were a group of 8 women and we loved the pool and cooking together. Keep in mind that there are lots of steps due to the three stories so don't rent this place if you have bad knees. :) The property is a bit worn but comfortable and spacious. We enjoyed our visit and would recommend this rental.

Great for our needs

The house was clean, pool and hot tub well maintained. Super close to the beach and area attractions. My only real issue was with the dishwasher which leaked and the management company came out, told us it required a part and we never heard anything else. A little frustrating to have to hand wash dishes all week for 8 people, but a minor inconvenience overall.

Beautiful Home and Location

We loved the everything about the home and location except for checking in. We arrived at 4:00 p.m. I called Guest Services to see if they could let us in one hour early. The answer was no. We had to sit in the driveway for one solid hour waiting for 5:00 p.m. We felt this was unnecessary. I could understand if we arrived at noon or 2:00 p.m., but making us wait for an hour was rather silly since there was no one there and the cleaning service was gone by then. Other than that, the home and location were lovely.

Waves - mcmadden cottage

This property is amazing. It is right on the beach ocean side. It is really almost a private beach this time of year. One negative is sand spurs. They stick in the bottom of shoes and cling to clothes and towels. All in the carpet! Cannot walk around barefoot inside. We loved the view! The vertical configuration allows one to see over the dunes to the water and waves. The deck is a great viewpoint for amazing sunrises. Of course, that means four flights of stairs. It was hard for me due to inflammation in my knees and back. I'm 65 and in good shape. Many older people could not make it up tge stairs with luggage or groceries. It really should not be rented to anyone with mobility issues. Stairs and beach access over a large dune would create access issues. Younger adults and families with children would be perfect. The hottub was leaking and the pool was covered for the season so that was sad. The kitchen was well equipped and we used it daily. We bought fresh fish and crabmeat just down the beach.We enjoyed a fire on the beach and chased large crabs with dip nets. The shells were large and intact on our beach. Birds were everywhere. We flew kites and walked for a long distance. It was a lovely time spent together.

Family Get-Away

Our party of four had a great time in the spacious home. Our plans were to relax, enjoy the beach, and cook meals together. With three floors, we all had plenty of privacy. We enjoyed the pool and pool table. There was a fun library to peruse, games, and magazines to browse. The location in Hatteras was nice and quiet compared to other areas, such as Nags Head and Kitty Hawk. We would love to go back again in the future.
