About this property

Spacious & Airy 1-BR near Eastern Mkt/Capitol

  • Large (800 sq.ft.) 1BR next to Eastern Market, Barrack’s Row and Eastern Market Metro with direct access to Reagan Nat Airport. Short walk to the US Capitol, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, and some of the best food in the city.

    THE SPACE
    The one-bedroom sits at the end of a block facing south, which sets it up for maximum sunlight. It includes a fireplace, full kitchen, enormous closet space, a new Queen pull-out sofa, washer/dryer, dishwasher, WIFI, Cable TV with Netflix. Enjoy a cup of coffee first thing every morning with a Nespresso machine and complimentary pods. There are two book shops, a Trader Joes, Bullfrog Bagels and a vintage movie theater around the corner. The washer and dryer allow you to easily do laundry, ideal for both short and long-term stays. It is the perfect spot to explore DC, visit family, work on the Hill, or just walk around the beautiful Capitol Hill neighborhood.

    The apartment easily accommodates 4 people (two (2) queen beds: one bed and one sleeper sofa). Please make the reservation for the number who will stay in the apartment to make sure it is properly stocked. The apartment is keyless entry. You will receive the code to access the unit in advance of your arrival.

    GUEST ACCESS
    The apartment is a 5 min walk to Eastern Market Metro (silver, orange, and blue lines). There is also the DC Circular, a $1 bus that takes you from Eastern Market to many of the sites in the city. Finally, there are many City Bike rentals within a five block radius, and we're happy to lend you some helmets if you like.

    PARKING
    Street parking passes are available upon request — just ask when booking and we are happy to make the arrangements. There is also a paid parking garage one block away.

    Other things to note

    The apartment has its own separate entrance. However, unlike some short-term rentals, we actually live upstairs in the building. That means my wife and I can answer your questions or address any issues you might have straight away. We want to make your stay in Washington DC as enjoyable as possible. We love our place and hope you will too.

Location as advertised in a safe neighborhood very close to the Metro and food. Mark was quick to respond to an ant problem (typical for the time of year we were staying) and an issue with the washing machine. He even ran our load through the wash while we were out and about, since we weren't able to do it ourselves the night before!

Great place and excellent location on Capitol Hill. Neighborhood is quiet and you can easily walk to lots of restaurants and the Eastern Market metro Station. Best apartment to stay in while visiting DC! Mark and Amy were kind hosts and the apartment was comfortable, clean and had plenty of room for two adults. The kitchen was well stocked and the gas stove was nice. The location was very safe and easily walkable everywhere. (We walked a TON!) Walking to the National Mall and museums was enjoyable and Trader Joe’s was convenient to get groceries. I want to return to DC for another visit and will book here again!

Best Location on Capitol Hill!

This is the second time we’ve stayed with Mark and Amy, and we’ll definitely be back soon! This is by far our favorite place to stay on Capitol Hill. The apartment is very clean, the kitchen has everything you need, and the location can’t be beat - close to Eastern Market, the metro, and the Capitol. Highly recommend!

We have stayed here several times this year! We keep coming back because it’s such a great location and the apt is so well laid out. There is plenty of space and the kitchen is well equipped. Perfect location. Took Metro from DCA airport to Eastern Market and a few block easy walk to the rental. No car is needed. Very clean, perfect for a couple. The owners live upstairs and were very helpful.

Lovely stay in the heart of Capitol Hill

This was ideal for several days visiting the museums, historic sites, and government buildings of the Hill and Mall area with an energetic 3rd grader. Its location allowed us to walk to every place on our list and then take the Metro home at day's end. Fantastic Apartment, Perfect Location

We stayed at this apartment for 5 days as a family of 3 to visit DC. The size was perfect for us, it was spotless and bright for a lower level apartment. The location was easy - located near a trader joes for shopping (there is a kitchen), lots of restaurants, the bus stop was easy for getting to the museums and mall, and there was even a playground for our kid. Capitol Area Gem

Super clean and convenient to the Metro. The apartment was big, bright and airy. All beds deemed great by the family.
