Historic Dog-Trot cabin huge porch Farm-stay
Come take a step back in time and relax in our 170 year old dog-trot cabin. It is an authentic historic structure with added modern conveniences. Whether it's a quiet evening on the porch, a dip in the pool at night under the stars, or coffee with the animals, you are sure to enjoy your stay at our farm as you experience life in a cabin as it might have been in the early 1800's. Our historical cabin can sleep 5 comfortably. There are 2 bedrooms, one king suite with additional sleeper sofa, and one queen room with attached guest bath! The cabin features a full kitchen and two bathrooms, master suite has tub/shower combo and guest bath has claw foot tub with hand held shower.
As a guest at our farm, feel free to roam around. The entire farm is yours. You may enjoy the pool between 10 AM - 9 PM, mingle with the animals or relax on the porch of your cabin. I live on the property and am available as needed. I have spent hours by the pool with some guests and just greeted others. It is entirely up to the guest how much interaction they want. I am always available on the property.
A heavy continental breakfast (Farm fresh egg and cheese strata, a homemade pastry, farm fresh yogurt, and orange juice) is served either in your cabin or at poolside (weather permitting) for $12 per guest. We love your fur babies, and they are more than welcome at Coulter Farmstead. We charge an additional fee of $25 per pet per night. Coulter Farmstead is a luxurious, rustic, and historic farmstead located in Washington, Arkansas that features four log cabins dating to the 1840's and a unique barn loft over an actual working barn that have been painstakingly renovated, as well as an 1860's antebellum Greek Revival home situated on 11 acres with an 1880's historic mercantile. Coulter Farmstead is located on the edge of Washington State Park "Old Washington" located just a few miles from Hope and Texarkana. Our property is authentic and will make you feel as though you have stepped back in time, but with all the modern conveniences and amenities. Come relax in one of the cabins or barn loft, experience unique shopping in the historic mercantile, or have the perfect intimate wedding anywhere outside on this beautiful property. Whichever you decide, our farmstead is the picture of rustic beauty. It is our hope that you and your guests will feel comfortable and right at home whatever the occasion, as you make memories to cherish for a lifetime. At Coulter Farmstead, drink in the simple, peaceful pleasures of farm life with just the sounds of nature as your backdrop. Experience a gentler way of life in a place where we describe porch sitting, book reading and coffee drinking as an activity. A farm fresh, heavy continental breakfast with a scrumptious cheese strata souffle' with fresh eggs from the family chickens, farm fresh homemade yogurt, a pastry and seasonal juice is available to guests in their cabins.

Wanted a comfy, unique place to stay and finding this historical dog trot was a treasure. Great place for stopping enroute from Texas to Tennessee. Beds were comfortable and accommodations perfect for our group and canines!
Coulter Farms is the place to go when you need to press the pause button on life. It offers you a quite comfortable place to relax and take in some quiet moments while sitting on the porch! We will for sure return!
Dog-Trot Cabins are my favorite homes. This was my first time getting to stay in one and it did not disappoint. The property is beautiful and all the animals around are spectacular and the owner is very funny and super friendly. We also opted for the hearty breakfast, served to us in our cabin, and it was delicious! If we find ourselves passing through in the future, we would definitely stay here again. Thank you!!
Property is incredible! My dog LOVED being able to run around freely (we checked this was ok with the owner), and she became fast friends with the owners dog, Arlan, who also runs freely. My kids loved exploring the grounds as well. Each cabin is set plenty far apart from each other so the privacy is perfect. We stayed in the “dog trot” cabins, 2BR/2Bath, and the inside of each was immaculate and so tastefully decorated. It was super cool that a wide hallway - the dog trot - separated each of the “rooms”, so each felt like its own individual cabin (but rent as a single cabin as a whole). We got the breakfast offered on premise, delivered to our cabin, and it was DELICIOUS. The only critique I could say is that there is basically nothing else to do in the tiny town of population 180, so be prepared to basically stay on property. We did utilize the communal pool, located in the back of the property owners home, and we had it all to ourselves while we were there. It truly was a fantastic find for us for an overnight stay on our way to The Ozarks!
The property was very well kept. The host were very nice and accommodating. The cabin made us feel as though we were stepping back in time but with modern conveniences.
The home is in such a beautiful location. We really enjoyed just sitting on the porch, playing games, and watching the goats and pigs run around. The home was quaint and beautiful and the host was very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend it.
I've already written one review on the other cabin. My friends stayed in the log cabin, and my family stayed in the newer "Dog Trot" cabin. I think it was actually named GreenBriar though. Anyone that wants to escape to rural America needs to stay here. It was absolutely beautiful with many things to do, if that's your thing.
We purchased a home that was built in 1886 and decided to renovate it. Staying here reminds us of home because of the similar style. Such a cute village. Wish we had more time to enjoy it. Hope to be back and definitely recommend to others. So amazing. Thank you for being so accommodating on our long voyage.
