Historic Bliss Kingbed near crater of diamonds
Come take a step back in time and relax in our 178 year old log cabin. It is an authentic historic structure with added modern conveniences. Whether it's a quiet evening on the porch, a dip in the pool at night under the stars, or coffee with the animals, you are sure to enjoy your stay at our farm as you experience life in a cabin as it might have been in the early 1800's. Our historical cabin can sleep 10 comfortably. 2 more guests can be accommodated by sleeping on the couches. There are 3 full size beds (remember folks, those big beds didn't exist back then), but ours are comfortable! There is also a twin size bed and 1 queen size bed in the loft.
There are couches upstairs and down for additional sleeping for children. The sleeping arrangement is one king size bed in the master bedroom downstairs and three full size beds in the loft bedroom upstairs. There is also an additional bedroom upstairs with one twin size bed and one queen size bed. The cabin features a full kitchen with a dishwasher and two bathrooms downstairs. One bathroom has a walk in shower, and the other bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub with a gorgeous view of the farm. There is a wood burning fireplace in the kitchen, bathroom, main living parlor and the master bedroom. As a guest at our farm, feel free to roam around. The entire farm is yours. You may enjoy the pool from 10 AM - 10 PM, mingle with the animals or relax on the porch of your cabin. I am on the property pretty much all the time. Depending on the preference of our guests, I have spent the whole experience by the pool with some and have not seen others.
A heavy continental breakfast (Farm fresh egg and cheese strata, a homemade pastry, farm fresh yogurt, and orange juice) is served either in your cabin, or at poolside (weather permitting) for $12 per guest. We love your fur babies, and they are more than welcome at Coulter Farmstead. We charge an additional fee of $25 per pet per night. Coulter Farmstead is a luxurious, rustic, and historic farmstead located in Washington, Arkansas that features four log cabins dating to the 1840's and a unique barn loft over an actual working barn that have been painstakingly renovated, as well as an 1860's antebellum Greek Revival home situated on 11 acres with an 1880's historic mercantile. Coulter Farmstead is located on the edge of Washington State Park "Old Washington" located just a few miles from Hope and Texarkana. Our property is authentic and will make you feel as though you have stepped back in time, but with all the modern conveniences and amenities. Come relax in one of the cabins or barn loft, experience unique shopping in the historic mercantile, or have the perfect intimate wedding anywhere outside on this beautiful property. Coulter Farmstead did not disappoint. Beautiful property in a unique area. We enjoyed exploring the town and loved how peaceful the area was. The property owner welcomed us shortly after arriving, and were very friendly. They even helped when one of my tires on my car was low. We also ordered the breakfast which was delivered to our cabin. The meal included a cheese soufflé, yogurt with berries, a muffin, and orange juice. It all tasted so good. Very much recommend staying here.
What a fun place to stay for our anniversary! I didn't realize how short some door frames were back in the day. We bought some of the frozen catered meals from the mercantile store on site and they were delicious and cooked easily according to the directions. We are glad we didn't take our pooch, since animals aren't allowed on the antique furniture, which is all of it, and there would have been no way to keep her off it. Cabin may be haunted - one light would turn on in the living room after we went to bed a couple of nights. We unplugged it, and the power briefly went out the next night. Could be a total coincidence. The mattress was awesome and made it hard to leave! We wish we'd stayed more than 3 days. Hosts were super friendly! Would definitely recommend.
The cabin was absolutely wonderful. Rustic, historic and comfortable. Our family stayed in it for my oldest son's wedding, and we had a great weekend. Within walking distance of several historic buildings too. Quiet, peaceful, and nostalgic. Can't wait to come back!
Our family loved staying in this perfectly curated cabin. Our two girls loves all the neat details and swimming in the pool. Our beds were comfortable and cozy. One of our daughters did not even want to leave. We would definitely stay here again!
Very cool historic cabin with updated conveniences made for a unique and comfortable stay. Only stayed one night but had everything we needed. Very friendly and communicative property management. Really enjoyed sitting on the covered front porch watching the rain.
My family and I stayed in the Neal cabin and it was wonderful. Check in and communication was great. The grounds were kept up well and beautiful. The cabin was clean, comfortable and felt very safe. I would have loved to have a little pamphlet to read about the history of the buildings on the property!
Owner very responsive and kind. Enjoyed property and kids loved the pool and animals. Could have used more coasters as I was constantly worried the kids would forget and leave a water mark behind.
We visited the farmstead with our extended family for our son’s birthday. We ALL had a fantastic time (ages 0 to 37) and enjoyed the pool and animals and peaceful morning on the porch. The host was very kind and available for anything we needed. We hope to be back soon!
We stayed one night here along a road trip, and wished we could've stayed longer! We had 3 adults and 6 kids ages 3-14. We all enjoyed the grounds, the pool, the cats on the farm, and the night time stars. We got takeout pizza from an Italian restaurant in Hope nearby, and it was only a 12 minute drive and was very good. The cabin itself was very cool, and extremely clean and welcoming. Would definitely stay again if in the area!
We ended up not staying at the property. Although it was definitely a cabin, the antique furniture and surroundings didn't make it ideal for a family to feel comfortable using. Would have loved to get some form of credit, but it wasn't offered.
This cabin was amazing! It was a unique experience for sure. You could definitely see the history in the house but it was nice to have modern amenities (AC, dishwasher and microwave, coffee maker, etc.). We were also able to use the pool and visit with some of the other travelers there as well as meet the animals that were onsite.
Katie and Justice were great hosts! They managed a nice little store on the property where we purchased some delicious foods and craft sodas. And I would highly recommend the breakfast! It was delicious.
Every year my girls and I along with the grands take a vacation.. this by far has been our most beloved trip.. the cabin was exceptionally cozy .. all beds were so comfy.. the hosts were magnificent hosts.. Justice and Katie West along with little Willow D. Has taken The Coulter Farmstead and made it like a little slice of Heaven here on Earth.. you definitely feel like family when you leave.. we had a great time and are already talking about going back when we can!!! I really can’t say enough about the hosts.. you did not want for anything.. and if you did they would make sure you had it.. just an adorable family I encourage anyone who wants to take a step back in time and relax to give this place a try!!! Truly exceptional.
Important things to know about this stay:- The pool is not heated so unless you are booking over the summer, its unlikely you’ll be able to use it- In the Neal cabin, while the listing says there are 3bedrooms, it’s really more like a 1br loft. Upstairs there are no doors - there is a spot you can crawl into the 2nd room and you can access the other upstairs bedroom directly from the stairs. This means you have to go downstairs to change clothes if you want privacy. While this may work fine if you have a large nuclear family, or are happy bunking many children in one room upstairs, it is not suitable for adults who want privacy.- There is no bathroom upstairs and the stairs are precarious, which can impact late night bathroom runs. - The primary door has a latch but it’s one way, so you can’t open the door from the outside once one person has closed the door inside. - There is one on-suite bath for the primary bedroom, which doesn’t have a shower. The other bathroom is off the dining room and is incredibly small for the rest of the house. - In the primary bathroom, you'll need to fill the bathtub slowly so as to not tax the water heater. - While we were there, the minisplit upstairs was out when we arrived. No concession was offered at the time. Instead I had to go back and pointedly request one, which was given. - The cabin has low ceilings—tall guests would be constantly worried about hitting their heads. I'm 5'5'' and had about 1-2'' of clearance.
We loved our stay at Coulter farms! Beautiful and clean. And exceptionally nice owner. So much to see in Washington. But our favorite was the blacksmith shop. Plan on trying to go back again very soon!
We spent six days and nights in this historic cabin. Overall, our stay was quite relaxing with a combination of 19th century charm sprinkled with 21st century amenities.
