  • My guesthouse is close to Fort Totten Metro Station, dining & shopping on Upshur Avenue in Petworth, and a 10 minute cab drive to the popular U Street Corridor. You’ll love my place because of easy it's access to buses and the subway. Great for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. It sleeps two comfortably with a queen size bed and twin futon sofa bed. The tree lined neighborhood is quiet. There is ample parking if you are driving a car on your trip.

I had a great stay here! Teri was nice and communicative, and it would be almost impossible to find a similar place at such a great price!- Positives: great/safe location, easy access to public transit (nearest bus pick-up 5 minute walk; nearest train station 15 minute walk), and Teri provided some drinks and snacks!- Negatives: bathroom was tight and the property could use some updates.Overall, I had a great stay here and I would recommend this property.

Very convenient to all sites in Washington DC. On street parking was always available. When it was warm, we were able to get cool. When it was cold, we were warm. The unit was clean except for the refrigerater drawer and the throw rugs need to go away. We were comfortable and felt safe. The neighbors were friendly also. No real complaints that matter. Good experience.

This was the second time staying, and it was still an amazing experience. One thing was that the big standing fan we used last time for air circulation was broken, but the little one worked well enough to make us comfortable. There was also hair clogging the shower before we arrived, which had to be cleared for the shower to drain. Overall experience was still good apart from these two things.

I enjoyed staying here. It was the right size and convenient to both the bus and Metro for going downtown to see the sights. The kitchen had tea and snacks, which were a godsend until I could get to a store. The unit was a bit warm at times

Great DC option

This was cute little place north of the city. The basement apartment had everything we needed (and more) and the neighborhood was nice and quiet with easy parking on the street right in front of the apartment. The Metro was pretty much a straight 3/4 mile walk from the apartment and very convenient to use. We never touched our car the whole week.

This apartment is very comfortable and a good value for the price. If you like to cook, the gas stove is a real plus. Fort Totten Metro Station (Red & Green lines) was an easy 12-minute walk. If you're driving, street parking was readily available in front of the apartment every day I was there. Finally, the owner provided clear instructions and even stocked the apartment with some drinks, snacks, and good coffee!

Great stay! Teri is a super host!

A great place to stay while touring Washington DC. A half hour's drive outside the city, so the neighbourhood itself is a bit quieter than the hectic downtown, which we appreciated. Teri is super -- very friendly, quick to respond to any of our enquiries, and very helpful! The guesthouse had everything we needed for our stay -- A/C, comfy bed, full kitchen, fresh linens, clean shower. We always managed to find street parking immediately outside the property, and the drive to the nearest grocery store was only 5-10 min, which was convenient. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Washington DC who's willing to commute or transit into the downtown core (we tried biking it, but the roads are very busy despite the presence of bike lanes!).

Nice get-a-way

This location is not on the beaten path which makes it a great way to go. It is about a 20 minute walk from the Metro and the residents in the neighborhood are all very friendly. The location also allows for walking to many local eateries. If your not in the mood to walk Uber and Uber Eats are both available. The apartment is nice and spacious. There is a lot of information in the apartment to help you find what you are looking for. Get familiar with the Metro system, it will take you anywhere you want to go. The Metro system has stops near many attractions. If visiting the Monuments and Museums, I would recommend doing a Bus Tour first, that way you will get a good idea of the layout of that area. Received great advice from Teri to check out the Wharf. You may even be able to grab lunch in Hells Kitchen and visit the International Spy Museum which was only a few blocks away. Went to a local Farmers Market (totally cool) but needed a large pot to make the pasta, might be a good idea to have a larger pot to cook with. Would definitely stay here again.

Came to DC for Climate Conference -simple needs

I needed a place to stay while I was attending a conference and wanted to avoid the high hotel and parking costs at the conference. It took me longer to get to the metro station (half hour) than suggested as I have multiple joint replacements and need a fourth soon. However, I was grateful to have that option, even though it was far for me. I just needed the basics (shower, kitchen, bed) - that was provided and more. I don't think the futon would be nice to sleep on. The air conditioner is a window unit that did okay but it did not get that hot while I was there, so some people might find it too hot and stuffy. However it is an ideal place for someone that needs an affordable place to stay for a few days. it is well maintained, clean, quiet, and easy to access. I was very pleased that the host was able to extend my stay for a day due to an unexpected problem with my return trip.
