Charming Historic Capitol Hill Row Home w/ parking - perfect location

Space
The exposed brick, wrap around wood stair case, 4 fireplaces (for show only at this time), original hardwood floors, and more will take you back into time to the 1800s during the revival of gothic Victorian style row homes while enjoying the comfort of updated modern amenities. Our 3 Bedroom, 3.5 bathroom home can be enjoyed as classy family vacation home, friend’s getaway or company trip location. There is a king size bed in the master with a foam mattress for the floor (if needed), and queen size beds in the other two bedrooms. We also have a full size bed in the pullout sofa in the living room.

Super Easy Check-In: -Arrive on your schedule and don't worry about trying to meet up with someone for the key. Our home is equipped with a digital keypad, ready for your arrival. So if your travel plans change, no worries!

Neighborhood overview
Historic Capitol Hill is one of the most prominent neighborhoods in the District filled architecturally rich row homes, national parks (1 block from house walkable sidewalks, and local small businesses. We will provide an updated city guide for you upon your arrival. Additionally, we are happy to provide suggestions (or even connections) for activities, events, and things to do in the city upon request.

Getting around
Our home is walking distance from the US Capitol, monuments, Eastern Market, Marine Barracks, newly re-developed Navy Yards waterfront, and more! If you forget or need anything, there are multiple grocery stores, CVS, coffee shops, restaurants, neighborhood stores, and shopping in a short walk. Capital Bike share bicycle parking is located at Lincoln park - one block from our house. For those who would like to use the Metrorail, Eastern Market (Blue/Orange/Silver line) is half a mile away and Union Station (Red Line) is a little over 1 mile. At Union station, you can access trains and buses to farther distances such as Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York cities. Uber is probably the easiest and usually less expensive than public transportation, especially for groups of people. *** Ronald Reagan Airport is only a 15 minute drive from the house! (6.1 miles, perhaps 20-25 in heavy traffic)

Close to the Capitol but also a friendly neighborhood with great coffeeshops, restaurants, bars, and a park. Will stay here again.

Charming Property

We had a wonderful stay. The bedrooms are located on the first and second floors, but there is no disability access from the entrance of the property. If you have difficulty climbing stairs, staying here may be challenging. That said, the beds are absolutely heavenly!

The property is located in a quiet neighborhood and easily accessible to all activities. The check in process was easy and we were allowed access for dropping off of luggage for a few of us that arrived early. The rooms downstairs are smaller than the pictures present. We enjoyed our stay.

Capital Hill Historical Home

This property was in a great location and seemingly safe neighborhood. Check in was easy and communication with the host was efficient and very responsive. The house needs some attention, cleaning up the outside, lots of cobwebs and debris around doors. The house is nice inside , beautiful bedding.

Location and spacious

Really liked that each bedroom had its own bathroom which works great for each family. Positives: - Location and easy to walk to parks/shops/restaurants - Spacious and large living room - Barry is a great host and easy to communicate with. - Parking Negatives: - Pictures look better than rental - Patio furniture not able to be used despite being covered before we arrived - Water pressure for select sinks and showers could be better - Lots of steps so not the best for younger kids

Great stay in the heart of Capital Hill

Our family really enjoyed our stay between Christmas and New Years is this fantastic restored row home. The location was perfect and located within walking distance of shops, restaurants, Eastern Market, Trader Joe’s…also walkable to the National Mall and White House area if you are up for a 2 to 3 mile walk. Secluded parking for one car behind the house was a great benefit - street parking is also available for additional vehicles with a permit. Three bedrooms each with their own bathroom is a plus. The owner, Barry, was very responsive and helpful with restaurant recommendations, etc. The kitchen is fully stocked and had everything we needed. Beds are super comfortable - which is sometimes rare in a rental property. Would definitely stay here again during a future trip!

Wonderful Stay!

We had 4 adults and 4 children and this house met our needs! Great Kitchen; we prepared a family meal and watched a movie. Also, appreciated the instructions and tips the homeowners gave us. We were able to hang out and tour D.C. Thank you and we will stay here again!Best,Kim and Scott

A respite in a city of politics

It was comfy, cozy, and kept us safe. It was near to the Eastern Market metro station and bus stop and that opened the entire city to our family instead of having to walk everywhere or attempt to drive and find parking. Speaking of the Eastern Market, what a great outdoor market to enjoy on the weekend. The house was near great places to eat, places to stop and shop, and Lincoln Park to enjoy the outdoors. On our feet though the house is a great place to be, it is near the mall, museums, monuments, the Capital Building and Library of Congress - 1mi to the Capital and 3.6mi to The Lincoln Memorial. The kitchen was was well stocked. The porch was comfortable. The "garage" was great to keep off the street. The beds are comfortable.To top it all off, Barry was easy to work with, and to be able to communicate with. Overall it was a delightful trip to our Nation's Capital and we would return if we are back in town.

Nice house, quiet neighborhood

Our party was diverse so having a bathroom in every room was a huge benefit! The back patio was large but the weather prevented us from using it. Check-in was seamless, check out was easier. Owner only reached out when needed. If we wanted to be extra picky, the television situation was strange and difficult to navigate. However, we weren't in the house long enough for it to matter. We would 100% stay here again.

Great location in Capitol Hill. Check-in flawless and the home was clean and well equipped. Huge smart tv in family room. The kitchen had everything we needed. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms worked out great for us. Private parking was a plus and you can fit a mid size SUV easy maybe even a full size. We felt safe and never had any issues. We were travelling with senior parents with mobility limitations and they were able to make it upstairs to bed and bath. Overall great stay and would return and recommend.

Family Fantastic!

Our stay was lovely! Great house, pretty well stocked kitchen and all the amenities! Huge tv in living space! We enjoyed playing games, and having great conversations. Convenient and Comfortable

This is aptly named a charming row house on Capitol Hill. My co-workers/friends needed to arrive in DC a day early to the CBC due to the addition of a White House visit at the last minute. We tried book other hotels but of course the cost of one night for all three of us at would have been four times as much for individual hotel rooms. Here, we each had our ownrooms with on suites and a half bath. We also enjoyed a full equipped kitchen and family room to celebrate a birthday. The only minor drawback was the TV access. In the time of streaming with limited cable, I would say bring your own Fire Stick so you can watch your familiar shows and movies. There no simple turn on the TV to a channel. Besides the minor inconvenience, a highly recommended stay!

Great place

Very happy we chose this property. Barry was very responsive and replied to questions immediately. The location is fairly close to Capital Hill if you are ok with a walk there. There are lime scooters and bikes all over to grab as well. The parking spot is great out back but tight if you have a large vehicle. We did tuck a full size pick up in there though.

Comfortable stay in a convenient location

This historic house was a comfortable place for us to stay for a few days. Everything was clean and in working order (with a couple of quirks one expects from historic homes, like floors that are slanted in spots). AC worked great, which was critical during the heat wave! I love that the Metro station and Trader Joe's are so close by, as is Eastern Market, which was fun to visit. Check out East City Bookshop, Le Pain Quotidien, and Labyrinth Games and Puzzles, all close to the Metro station.
