Great stay, kids loved the animals
Really enjoyed the farm, kids loved all the animals and the area was beautiful. The barn was fun, the stove kept everything nice and warm. Kids didn’t end up needing the air mattress, they liked sleeping on the futon. Outlet in kitchen wasn’t working, but there were others available. View was amazing from the porch.

Amber was very hospitable, introducing us to the animals and letting us feed and pet them. She hooked us up with duck eggs and made sure we were comfortable and had linens, firewood etc. We enjoyed the hiking and nearby wineries. We hope to return!

Great little getaway spot!
My grandparents live nearby, so this was a great location with us. They were very candid about the rules and amenities upfront so there were no surprises. It's a super cute place and a great size for a couples getaway, especially if you love animals. It was fun waking up to all the animals on the ranch and a morning walk with the pups. They're very dog friendly with a bed and bowls waiting for your fur babies. Our pups really enjoyed the space and all the smells outside with new friends to meet. We also loved the fresh duck eggs! The beds were comfortable and the AC cooled down the space pretty quickly from the summer heat. We met the owner while we were there and she was very friendly. We definitely recommend the spot if you're looking for a place in the area. Make sure to find some time to check out the local wineries while you're there too!

The barn is well equipped with a kitchenette (microwave, hotplate, cutting tools, sink, etc). I didn't find the heaters on the first night so I was freezing, but I found it the second night and was warm. Amber greeted me upon arrival and told me a bit about the pets, and they left fresh duck eggs. Delicious. It was still a bit far of a drive to get to Anza Borrego Desert Park. An hour or so. This location might be best suited for a family or a couple. Just feels eerie for a single woman. At one point, I went to leave and the gate code wouldn't work. It was early in the morning and I drove back up to the barn to get internet since I didn't have phone service. I couldn't find a number to reach them so I tried knocking at the front house but it was still early (before 7am). I ended up driving to the gate and stepping over a dip in the barbed wire to punch the code from the outside in order to leave. All worked out and the gate was fixed by the time I left the following day.
