"A few of my colleagues have stayed here over a few nights and said how lovely the owner was and he assisted when Expedia didn't send through the booking quick enough but was kind enough to put up in an upgraded room at no extra cost to ourselves - highly recommend and will definitely be using this accommodation again when my trainers are down that way."

"Absolutely fine, was welcomed by a thoroughly nice chap who checked us in etc. Room was up in the rafters but was nice, comfortable bed and a magnificent bathtub. Spent an hour in the bar and enjoyed that, drinks were reasonable price and it seemed to be quite full. Had to leave at 06:00 to catch ferry so didn’t eat breakfast. Only negative was the toilet seat was quite loose and I felt a little uneasy sitting on the pan, expecting it to slip off at any second. Absolute not a show-stopper...

"Bed was comfortable, large room and bathroom, very clean throughout the hotel. Breakfast was varied and well cooked. Service was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Gardens extensive. No local amenities that I was aware of. Sort of place ideal if just passing through, having a reception or making use of the bar/restaurant."

"The staff were lovely and helpful and the meals superb. Housekeeping was a bit lacking - our room was quite dusty on some surfaces and well handled parts of the joinery were noticeably dirty eg bathroom door frame. The hotel is right in the centre of everything and the village is incredibly charming. On the whole, we loved our stay."

"So glad we booked this place rather than a large hotel in the area that we were considering. The room was gorgeous with a big bath tub (we chose one of the big rooms). Check in was easy, staff were v friendly and accommodating despite looking after the restaurant too (special mention to Ashmi who waited on us a couple of times in the restaurant). "A picturesque Dorset pub with very comfortable rooms. I had dinner at the pub which was great, plus included breakfast at cafe round the corner which was also delicious. I hope to be back again soon "

"The Fox was situated in a very pretty and quiet area. The room was well kept and the bed very comfortable. The food was delicious and served at a very relaxed pace. The staff listened to feedback and gave great service. A perfect place for a rest and recharge. I would have like to have seen bottled water anda box of tissues in the room for an extra touch."
