"The Red Ohana is a cute little cottage just outside of Waimea. It is a great location from which to explore the Hilo side of Hawaii, and Waimea is a lovely little town to explore. (don’t miss the Wednesday and Saturday Kamuela Farmers Market) Laura was an excellent host, great communication and very welcoming - she kept us informed of everything we needed to know. On our last day, due to bad weather, we asked at the last minute if we could extend our stay by a day to accommodate our late flight off the island, and Laura was flexible enough to accommodate our request and allow us the extra day, which we very much appreciated. Mahalo, Laura - we hope to be back to visit again sometime. "

"This is one of the best properties in which we have stayed in the islands. The property owner was attentive and pleasant to deal with. It's in a quiet, family oriented neighborhood. The beds were quite comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The gas grill was handy and we used it a few times. We also enjoyed the lanai with a nice view of the back pasture and some wild turkeys. It's not far to Foodland or KTA supermarkets. Waimea is pretty laid back and a nice break from touristy areas. If you visit Waimea, this is the place you want stay."
