Morning coffee with humpback whales breaching in the Maalaea bay? Yeah, that happened every single day. The lanai view alone is worth it. The little beach below the resort is quiet and uncrowded, and Maalaea's central location made it easy to reach basically anywhere on the island north, south, upcountry, all of it.A few things to know going in: this is a couples spot, not a family one. Space is tight, luggage storage is minimal, and the bed configuration wasn't quite what the website showed, so confirm that before you arrive. The pillows need replacing, the upstairs carpet is well overdue for a deep clean or full replacement, and parking is a squeeze though management was helpful about it.Clean downstairs and functional throughout, and you'll fall asleep to the sound of waves and wake up to whales.
