Hotel to be avoided - now another Fawlty Towers
Impressed with my stay overnight 3 years ago. Rebooked on that basis. So after a 500 mile car journey and looking forward to a nice drink in the lounge bar and meal in one of the two restaurants advertised on Hotel.com booking confirmation were extremely dissatistied to find neither open. Compounded by a surly desk clerk suggesting we get back in the car and find somewhere in Poitier. Had to demand hot water to make tea, and double room for 2 was only made up for one. Dont forget the church bells next door chiming to disturb sleep. This disaster was complete opposite of excellent overnight stay at Hotel Milagros, Spain.

Good basic stopover Hotel, no frills. the shower in our room didn't work and we were moved to another room without any problem. The Restuarant/Brasserie is across the road from the accomodation and we found parking awkward. We ate in the Brasserie but it wasn't memorable and the service a bit slow. The town itself was disappointing and we probably wouldn't return. Nevertheless a good basic stopover and value for money.

Restaurant over rated
Hotel staff friendly, rooms decor less than imaginative, associated restaurant (not Brasserie) poor if not very poor value for money when compared to other €30 set menu experienced elsewhere.
Staff speak good English and are very welcoming. The room we had was spacious, and although basically furnished was comfortable and had a good view across a small courtyard to the old church--- the bell chimes ceased at night! The restaurant provided by far the best meal of the holiday at a reasonable cost. Car parking is in a small public car park immedilately adjacent to the hotel. You are encouraged to empty your car overnight, which in our case would have meant mainly unwashed clothes-- so we disobeyed.
