Dinner was rich, flavorful, and beautifully presented, and breakfast was just as impressive, with fresh, high-quality options that made for a perfect start to the day. Each meal felt intentional and well-crafted. And then there are the views. Whether looking out from the window in the early morning light or watching the sunset settle over the surrounding landscape, the setting is simply beautiful. It is peaceful, scenic, and deeply restorative. This is a place I would return to without hesitation, and one I would highly recommend to anyone looking for comfort, quality, and a truly memorable experience."

"Expedia fails to protect its customers when the service is not delivered as expected. During our stay, renovation work started directly above our room at 7:00 a.m. without any prior notice. The noise was extremely loud, woke us up immediately, and made it impossible to return to sleep. This significantly impacted our stay and our ability to use the room for its primary purpose. This was meant to be a short vacation to rest, but instead it was disrupted in a way that made it impossible to relax. We reported the issue to reception as soon as it opened at 8:00 a.m., after trying unsuccessfully to rest for an hour. The solutions offered were not practical, as the disruption had already occurred. The hotel staff acknowledged the issue on site and indicated that compensation would be provided. However, after our departure, they refused to offer any compensation or resolution. What is particularly disappointing is how this situation was handled by Expedia. Despite clear evidence of a service failure, the case was treated as a standard cancellation request rather than “service not provided as expected.” The case was closed based solely on the property’s response, without addressing the actual issue. As the issue remains unresolved, I have initiated a chargeback process with my bank due to the failure to provide the service as expected."

"The staff were great from check in to check out. The location is ideal for walking everywhere, and they have large parking areas. The indoor pool is a nice touch to have when it’s late and you want to get out of your room. I forgot my adapters for my charging cable and they had them. The balcony’s in the room also smoking allowed. They also have a toy area for children which my daughter enjoyed. The restaurant is nice too, and the wait staff are very kind. Overall I will stay here again when I visit the Black Forest. "

"When checking in, the front desk informed me that they moved my reservation to the express hotel down the street. They offered me free breakfast, which I later found was free to begin with. The front desk lady said my room was upgraded at the express hotel. When I got to the express room, it was twin beds for my wife and I and the space was too small for us and two bags. The TV didn’t work either, not that I wanted to watch a German show, but just adds to the drama. The front desk lady said they messaged me but that was a lie too. I was sent an email only saying “we look forward to your stay.” I would not recommend staying at this place. I’ve been to Tutt several times and would go to Truebe instead. "

"For the price you pay, it’s not bad. The decor may need an update, but the pictures online are true to form. My only real gripe was the plastic mattress protector on the obviously new mattress- you’ll wake up in a pool of sweat in the middle of the night. Nevertheless, I still give my overall experience 5 stars because of the hotel’s staff. They went above and beyond to help me from restaurant reservations, what points of interest to see, and even printed several documents I needed for me. At the end of the day, a hotel is really just a fungible service - a bed to sleep in. The difference is service. I would definitely recommend. "

"A wonderful hotel right at the foot of the viaduct. Good breakfast, private parking. We stayed one night to visit the Christmas market. Very convenient."

"I stumbled upon Sombea during a trip through Southern Germany, and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. The staff is helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the restaurant is delicious. If I find that my travels take be back to the Schwarzwald, I will be staying at Sombea again."

"My wife and I decided to stay at Hotel Gasthaus Adler because we wanted to experience a quiet, classic, but not far from the black forest at all. Located between farms, it offers amazing views. Their restaurant was amazing! The food, service and atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. The room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable with a nice bathroom with lots of room. We also had a very spacious balcony were we sat and enjoy the big trees right across the street. Ths staff made it so welcoming, we felt like we were among family! We loved having stayed at Hotel Gasthaus Adler!!! "
