"We had a wonderful stay for 4 nights and didn’t want to leave! We had stayed at the same villa over 30 years ago so it was extremely special to come back again as a family! The pool area is amazing and we enjoyed relaxed days around the pool and playing tennis and wine tasting at the property one evening. "

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Casina della Rose. Consuelo is a fantastic host, very friendly and responsive and not at all intrusive. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. It was unusually hot (high thirties every day) when we were there, and we were grateful to have the air conditioning and the pool. The drive up the hill to the house is not for the faint hearted and Consuelo kindly offered for us to call her from the bottom of the hill to check that no one else was on their way down.We definitely recommend stopping off at a supermarket on the way from the airport. Consuelo kindly sent us details for the big Esselunga supermarket just by the motorway exit in Pistoia. From there it is around 20-25 minutes to the house.Despite the hot weather, we enjoyed trips to Pistoia, Lucca, Florence and Montecantini."

"There was only 3 of us staying so we had more room than we needed. The villa is set out on 5 floors so a fair few steps involved. At the bottom there was a loung and kitchen. The other floors are bedroom. They are themed bedrooms with pictures etc. from the owners collection. Very impressive. There are a lot of step and it's not geeared for the less mobile. but the terrace is lovely, cool and breezy when we went. Great to sit out of an evening, with mozzie protection!Aircon is all bedrooms but TBH you are better of leaving the windows open as the breeze is far better and the aircon is too noisy for me to sleep with.Car is essential. Local store has most things but too hot to walk there. supermarket is about 20mins away. More step to the swimming pool through a small olive orchard. But well worth it. fantastic views. thankfully there shade up there as well. Watch out for the sunset. that's nice with a glass of wine!"

"Though the room was spacious the shower in the on suite needs updating The bar in the room had only one bottle of water. We dined in the restaurant which was quite busy my meal was fine but my wife chose the filet steak which was served on mashed potato . Unfortunately the sinus had not been properly trimmed which spoilt the meal as my wife was struggled to cut what was edible To top it all I was given €4 discount from the €29 charge for the filet "
