"This is the true Costa Rican experience, not a sanitized resort. The house and grounds are scrupulously maintained. Located on a back road, surrounded by agriculture and local homes, it gives the real flavor of Costa Rica. The owner was super nice and helpful. Air conditioning would have been nice but we honestly didn't need it. I would stay here again and will recommend it to my frineds."

"We had a nice time. Key takeaways: this location would be best in the dry season. No heating or cooling and no screens on windows. Fireplace is extremely smoky, you will smell like you were camping. The wood is also very damp and hard to light and keep going. Very friendly staff. Grounds are beautiful when the sun is out. No real hot water, we had to heat water on the stove since the hot water was only a few degrees warmer than the cold. Bed was very comfortable and had a fluffy blanket on it...

"The house was well maintained and comfortable (we didn't spend a lot of time there, but the kitchen was well appointed, beds were comfortable) and the location was perfect for hiking Volcan Barva and starting our CR trip. The only issue we had was with the management company, Vacasa, who didn't communicate our arrival to the house manager, but otherwise it was perfect."
