We met friends for a three night stay and had a great time. The location was in a valley, close to a creek and a nice easy drive to the Buffalo River and Jasper. The house had good amenities and a great layout. It is clear that the owners are thoughtful and care about guests having a great experience. We would definitely recommend and stay again.
The property allowed my family and I to enjoy the Arkansas landscape in privacy and kept us close to nature. Had me day dreaming about buying my own property in the ozark mountains one day. The property manager did a great job communicating the expectations. Made for an easy trip.
We enjoyed being in the country. Outside amenities were perfect. We loved the large table to play family games on. We did not enjoy the mice. There were mouse droppings in the silverware , cooking utensils and pans. There was a lot in the hallway toward the washer and dryer. The mouse droppings were there when we checked in and even when we cleaned they returned at night. So...bring something to put your drygoods in.
Enjoyed the stay at the property very much. This was our second trip there and will be coming back next year. Guys trip with our young boys, they had a blast in the creek and open field. Fire pit was a big hit as well as the hot tub!
Annual Girls Trip and this was the perfect place to stay. Off the beaten path but still within a days trip to just about anywhere you'd want to go. Plenty of space to spread out or be together. Perfect for the rural get away. The home and property are well loved and beautifully maintained. Would definitely stay again.
This was the perfect house for our family vacation with the grand kids. It's in a great location for exploring the Ozarks. It was centrally located to all the trails we had on our list. It was large enough for everyone to spread out, and it has a very large dining room table for when we all came together. The views from the porch are spectacular and the creek was a bonus. It has a brand new hot tub which was a big hit after long days of hiking. The communication with the host was great.
Property is wonderful. Very private and pretty. Everything we needed was there for great family getaway from the busyness of normal life. Hot tub, fire pit and lots of space was perfect for our family of 6. Only thing to note for potential renters, almost no cell signal in this area and closest real grocery store is about 20 minutes away, so plan accordingly. But property was very nice and clean. We enjoyed our stay!
Roomy country place just off blacktop road which is easy to get to. Loved the 4 bedrooms with 5 beds (plus an extra foldout bed if needed). With 5 of us, we enjoyed this greatly. One bedroom is accessed only from the outside so the person who stays in that one has to go outside and then into the house to access the bathroom. Bring your own shampoo. Great tv choices, book, and some games although we enjoyed traveling nearby. Very clean with clear instructions.
Misty Creek Cabin was a wonderful home base for my family's Ozark vacation. Lots of outdoor opportunities were within a 30 min. drive. The cabin easily accommodated my family of 4 plus my in-laws. Beds were comfy, loved the gas grill, and the AC worked beautifully when it was 100+ each day of our trip. (Fear not: even the locals were like "it's never this hot.") Tip: check out Sam's Throne Campground south of the cabin on Hwy 123--hike the right-hand trail at the end of the road. A short walk to the overlook at sunset provides awesome views! I would definitely stay here again.
My kids and grandkids enjoyed this location so much! They played in the creek several times a day. Hit golf balls and then they fetched them back. They loved the hot tub and the jacuzzi tub. Such a great place to stay! We played the games provided and the table was plenty big enough for us to eat and play at. There was so much to do for even the pickiest kids. Let's face it, we all have at least one. If you go to Jasper to grab a meal try the Pizza down town and the little convenience stores were yummy too. We plan on returning to view the fall foliage. Thanks so much for sharing your little piece of heaven with us!
Large Spacious place; great location (but current description not accurate & Misleading)
Positives:
* It is spacious. Rooms are huge and lots of main floor gathering space. We didn't get to use the outdoors for our trip but it would be great for a longer trip as well.
* Kitchen was nicely stocked
* Owner quick to respond with questions
* Great place for a guys weekend/trip
Areas to Improve:
* Description says sleeps 11 but the base is set at 4...be aware of this...the more people you have the higher it will charge you.
* Description says 5 bedrooms (6 beds) but there were only 4 (5 beds). (This seems to be updated on the description after writing to the owner)
My wife and i are from the Carolinas and live in Texas. We have fallen in love with the Ozarks as it reminds us of home. (We actually now love the Ozarks more)
It was my wife's 53rd birthday and what she wanted was to stay in the country again for awhile.
We stayed in this VERY private setting for 5 nights, we thoroughly enjoyed the sound of crickets and wildlife and the serenity that the 5 acre property provided. We mostly stayed outside the entire stay.
Barefoot walks in the lawn and field took us back, and helped ground us, as well as walks up and down the driveway.
We enjoyed watching our 2 furbabies get to stretch their legs and run and play.
Juergen was very helpful and right on top of any need or question we had.... like responded almost immediately!!! Very very professional
We thought so much of this property that we reserved it again for a future date before we even left!!!
If you want privacy in a country setting, and need the healing only the country can provide aside from The Lord Jesus Christ..... this is it!!!
Everything was in good shape, and the house itself was very relaxing--delightfully furnished, with a number of refreshing European touches. All in all, a very cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Convenient, homelike, luxurious.
They have indoor and outdoor Jacuzzi that were very clean and nice. Was secluded and the perfect getaway for my husband and myself but would also be a great place to take your family. Has a creek, fire pit and games to entertain kids and plenty of comfortable beds!! We highly recommend this place!!
We booked this property for our daughter's birthday. The property was clean and the views of the creek and mountain were spectacular. We enjoyed our stay and will remember this booking for future stays.
A wonderful cabin in the Ozarks. The location was perfect for exploring the Buffalo National River and Ozark National Forest. The cabin was clean, comfortable, beautifully appointed and had everything you would need. The fire ring was a great place to relax after a day of hiking. The host was also very helpful and ensured we had a great stay.
