"The view is spectacular. We really enjoyed our stay. It was wonderfully relaxing by and in the lovely pool, overlooking the mountains. The young people walked quite a few kilometers up and down the mountain to get to the village for a drink. Communication with the owner was excellent, and he responded very quickly. He reacted positively to our suggestion regarding the need for a bit more seating (in the TV room) and more sun loungers (by the pool); I hope they act on it. We were also able to check in early by prior arrangement. It was great for us that this happened to be possible and that the owner was so flexible. Sadly, the holiday is over now. Thanks, Anders."

"We travel extensively and rarely have we been to such a beautiful hotel set in the most fantastic location. Our room was clean and comfortable, our meals in the restaurant superbly presented by cheerful and helpful staff, and the young male receptionist so very friendly. We would normally have given the property full stars EXCEPT we were very unhappy with the fact that a dog was allowed to roam around the serving and seating areas whilst guests were having breakfast. Too unhygienic for us! It appeared to belong to a member of staff who was not at all concerned that the dog was wandering around, sometimes taking food from diners. This was so wrong!"

"Puerta España gives you the chance to re-Live the 70s in a hotel with character which allows time travel. I enjoyed seeing for the things time doesn't change. Great value for money. Great stop in a city where a packet of cigarettes is 4€ and in North of France is 13€. Enjoy your stay!"

"A nice, good value hotel in a great location for walking, medieval towns and the Yellow Train. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were disappointed that the spa was closed while we were there (staffing problems). The room was very quiet, clean and comfortable although our shower was a bit cramped and awkward to use."
