JR East Mets in Utsunomiya
For a most reasonable price this was an excellent choice. Helpful staff, clean, and larger than expected room (for a Japanese business hotel). Will stay again on another trip.

Comfortable & stylish hotel right on station
Very comfortable and stylish hotel right on Utsunomiya station (can connect without walking outdoors). There was a lounge on my floor with free tea and coffee, comfy sofas and newspapers etc. Even though my room was right next to the train track it was well insulated and quiet, with thick blackout curtains. You could request a room away from the trains if you are very sensitive to noise though. Breakfast buffet was huge, with Japanese and western style food and even a serving of curry & rice! Friendly, English speaking staff. Highly recommend.

Guest lounge looked really nice with train station theme. No mirror nor water server in the gym though it was pretty spacious. Only coffee was available in the lounge. But overall, pretty impressed.

This was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in and is reasonably priced. Very clean, modern, and the staff was very friendly. There is a small gym that overlooks the Shinkansen tracks so you have a surprising view while on the treadmill. I would suggest some weights though. Breakfast was great as well. The surrounding area has everything you needed and delicious gyoza restaurants.
